ESPN reporter Shams Charania dropped the bombshell on Saturday that shook the NBA world. The NBA insider reported the Dallas Mavericks just traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick.

The news came so suddenly, it had many fans questioning whether Shams’s account had been hacked. A trade of this magnitude was completely out of nowhere.

Several NBA stars including Joel Embiid, Tyler Herro, and Tyrese Maxey expressed their shock over the Luka-Davis trade news on the social media.

Videos of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker reacting to the news during the Phoenix Suns’ game against the Portland Trail Blazers also surfaced on social media.

After Suns’ loss to the Blazers, Durant opened up about the trade news and called it “insane”.

“This is insane. This is the biggest trade I’ve seen since I’ve been in the league, or honestly, since I’ve been watching the sport”, Kevin Durant told the reporters.

“Players are held to a different standard of loyalty and commitment to a program, but the organizations don’t get held to that same standard from the outside,” the 36-year-old added.

“It’s a business” – Devin Booker on Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade

Devin Booker also shared his thoughts on the trade and pointed out that it’s a clear reminder that no one is truly untouchable or safe in this league.

“It’s crazy, man,” Booker said. “I really don’t know what to say. Luka was always that guy. Everybody thought he was untouchable, untradeable. But the NBA shows you again. It’s a business. They’re always having a conversation about you. Don’t think that you’re safe.”
