Get ready for a major shakeup in NBA 2K25! 2K Games has announced NBA 2K25 patch notes 2.0, a comprehensive update arriving before the highly anticipated Season 2 kicks off on October 18th. This patch, also known as Update 1.007 on PS5, promises a variety of gameplay tweaks, audio, and commentary enhancements to improve the virtual basketball experience.
Ahead of Season 2 in NBA 2K25, let’s take a look at the changes and updates being introduced in gameplay patch 2.0.
Adjusted the effectiveness of pass steals:
- Reduced unrealistic catches when close to the passer.
- Toned down blind catches when players are facing the wrong way.
Improved shot contest logic:
- Enhanced coverage scoring for both perimeter and interior defense.
- “Hand down” situations will no longer register as Tight.
- Slight buff to open shots for balance.
Enhanced Pro Stick responsiveness:
- Improved dribbling and shooting responsiveness.
- Reduced delays with catch-and-shoot actions.
Fixed exploits and glitches:
- Addressed an exploit that made low post fades too effective.
- Repaired dribble move branches, including the 720-spin glitch.
- Fixed unwanted double hesitation moves from the triple threat.

Adjusted floater shot ratings:
- Standing floaters now use the Close Shot rating.
- Driving floaters use a weighted average of the higher rating between Driving Layup and Close Shot.
Restricted post spin shots:
- Limited to live dribble situations to prevent double-dribble violations.
- Fixed an issue that allowed double-dribbles in the post without a violation being called.
Adjusted effectiveness of deep post drop steps:
- Slightly nerfed their effectiveness.
Fixed face-down shot landings:
- Falling face-down shot landings will now only occur when hit from behind.
Catch Collisions:
- Tuned catch collisions to improve animation coverage.
- Adjusted to ensure animations play in more appropriate situations.
Ball Attachment Logic:
- Improved the logic, especially when starting a dunk or layup mid-dribble.
Takeover Meter Scaling:
- Added support to scale Takeover meter progress differently for short quarters.
- Adjusted for modes without a game clock, such as Triple Threat in MyTEAM.
2K Camera Flip Fix:
- Resolved an issue where the 2K camera flip would get confused after a turnover immediately following a rebound.
Defensive Matchups:
- Manually selected defensive matchups will no longer reset after a timeout is called.
Jordan Clarkson’s Stepback Jumper:
- Adjusted one of his stepback jumpers to prevent unrealistic initial dribble speed.
Devin Booker’s Post Shimmy Fade:
- Updated his post shimmy fade package for improved accuracy.
Mark Williams’s Signature Jump Shot:
- Changed it to be valid for big men only.
Go-To Shot Behavior:
- Your player will now break out of a Go-To Shot if moved too far from the shot marker during certain drills.
Self Alley-Oop Fix:
- Fixed an issue that made self alley-oops very difficult to complete in the Dunk Contest.
Dunk Contest Scoring Bug:
- Fixed a scoring bug that incorrectly awarded points on missed dunks.
The developers have also announced the General and MyCAREER updates in patch 2.0 of NBA 2K25.
