The 2025 NBA Play-In Tournament will begin on April 15.
After the thrilling 2024-25 regular season concluded on Sunday, the NBA is headed towards the most exciting phase, the playoffs. However, before that, we will have the play-in tournament, where a total of eight teams, four from each conference, will fight for one last chance to make it to the playoffs.
The 2025 NBA Play-In Tournament begins Tuesday, April 15 and comes to an end on April 18. It will feature the teams that finished 7 through 10 in the Eastern and the Western Conference standings. The tournament that was approved for the first time in the 2019-20 season, helps to determine the number 7 and number 8 seeds in each conference’s bracket.
In the ongoing season, seedings got finalized in the East a couple of days ago. However, things came down to the final day in the West, when the Los Angeles Clippers took down the seven-time champions, Golden State Warriors, in a dramatic OT game to occupy the fifth seed in the standings. The Steve Kerr side booked the seventh spot, and is now one of the four Western Conference teams that will tussle it out to book the remaining two seeds before the playoffs start.
