Renversants : c’est le terme juste pour qualifier les Pirates hier soir après leur victoire 13 à 12 sur les Reds de Cincinnati.<\/h2>

Menés 9 à 0 après seulement 3 manches, les Pirates se dirigeaient vers une nouvelle défaite inévitable. Pourtant, l’équipe a trouvé les ressources pour revenir petit à petit dans la rencontre et inscrire 13 points qui seront de trop pour les Reds.<\/p>

Selon Elias, il s’agit du plus gros comeback de l’histoire de la franchise en 142 ans d’existence ! Il n’avaient remporté aucun des 819 matchs où ils étaient menés de la sorte.<\/p>

« Je me sens bien ce soir. Je suis vraiment fier de notre groupe », a déclaré le manager des Pirates, Derek Shelton.<\/a> « Je dirais que c’est tout à fait au sommet. … Les walk-offs à domicile sont vraiment spéciaux, mais avec ce groupe, si tard dans l’année, pour faire ça, oui, c’est tout à fait dans le haut du panier. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

C’est Alfonso Rivas qui a sonné la charge dans la quatrième manche. À partir de là, les Pirates ne mettront que 3 manches pour ramener le déficit à seulement 3 points avec notamment un home run à 3 points de Bryan Reynolds.<\/p>

Le momentum a clairement changé de camp comme souvent dans ce type de rencontre. Et la 7è manches n’était pas différentes avec les 4 premiers frappeurs qui atteignent la base.<\/p>

Hormis ce trou d’air en début de match, les Pirates offre un baseball alléchant depuis plusieurs rencontres comme le souligne Reynolds :<\/p>

« Nous jouons du très bon baseball en ce moment », a déclaré Reynolds, qui a porté sa série de buts à 21 matchs. « Mais c’est ce que nous faisons depuis un certain temps, il me semble. Nous allons continuer à nous améliorer et à nous préparer pour tout ce que l’avenir nous réserve. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Les Pirates se tournent déjà vers 2024 mais ce type de match peut servir de référence à un groupe qui pourrait voir débarquer le n°1 de la draft 2023, Paul Skeynes<\/a> rapidement !<\/p>
