Leur tâche ? Formuler des recommandations à l’intention de la ligue élargie et de son conseil exécutif. Ce conseil présentera ensuite ses conclusions à l’ensemble des propriétaires des 30 équipes.<\/p>
Pour que les Athletics fassent leurs valises et partent pour le Nevada, ils ont besoin de plus qu’une simple majorité. Il faut impérativement l’approbation de 75 % des groupes de propriétaires. Compte tenu du sentiment dominant et du poids de la proposition, les initiés de l’industrie et les fans murmurent à propos d’un possible accord unanime. Un vote favorable mettrait en branle la transition des A’s vers la capitale mondiale du divertissement.<\/p>
Problèmes de transition : L’énigme des stades<\/h3>
Une fois que l’encre aura séché sur les documents de relocalisation, en supposant une issue favorable pour les Athletics, une autre question pressante fera surface : Où les A’s planteront-ils leur tente pendant la période de transition ?<\/p>
Les plans laissent déjà entrevoir une future maison grandiose. Un stade à toit rétractable ultramoderne d’une valeur de 1,5 milliard de dollars, prévu sur le site actuel de l’hôtel Tropicana, représente l’avenir de l’équipe. Avec la démolition de l’ancien hôtel pour faire place à la nouvelle arène, et sa résurrection sur un site adjacent, la vision des Athletics donne une image d’ambition et de grandeur. De manière optimiste, l’équipe souhaite que ce majestueux stade soit opérationnel pour le début de la saison 2028 de la MLB.<\/p>
Mais le chemin qui mène d’Oakland à ce nouveau rêve de Las Vegas est semé d’incertitudes. Le bail du Coliseum d’Oakland expirant à la fin de la prochaine saison, et aucun projet concret n’étant prévu pour les années 2025-27, les Athletics sont dans l’expectative.<\/p>
Des discussions internes ont laissé entrevoir la possibilité d’une extension à court terme du bail du Coliseum. Cependant, personne ne sait si Oakland est prêt à accepter un tel arrangement. Les spéculations vont bon train quant à la possibilité pour les Athletics de se tourner vers leur stade Triple-A à Vegas ou même de partager la vaste étendue de l’Oracle Park avec les Giants.<\/p>
