Après  saisons dans la NHL, Josh Bailey raccroche les patins pour prendre sa retraite.<\/h2>

Josh Bailey des New York Islanders a disputé 1057 matchs en NHL en 15 saisons. Il a été drafté lors du premier tour à la neuvième position lors de la draft 2009 par les New York Islanders<\/a>.<\/p>

« Au cours des derniers mois, j’ai vécu plein de moments qui m’ont amené à faire une pause. Je pense que ce qui m’a le plus marqué, c’est de réaliser que ce chapitre est désormais terminé. Tout ce que j’aime dans le fait de porter le bleu et l’orange des Islanders n’est plus qu’un souvenir. Même si cela m’a parfois rendu émotif, je chérirai toujours ces souvenirs. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Bailey a quitté les Islanders lors d’un trade avec les Chicago Blackhawks en juin dernier. Le contrat du joueur de NHL a été ensuite racheté par Chicago pour une valeur de 5 millions de dollars.<\/p>

« Depuis mon premier match<\/a> avec les Islanders à 19 ans jusqu’à mon dernier à 33 ans, j’ai vécu toute une aventure. Elle n’a pas toujours été agréable, mais je n’y changerais rien. Les moments difficiles vous rendent plus fort et vous permettent d’apprécier d’autant plus les bons moments, et nous en avons eu beaucoup. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Josh Bailey conclu donc sa carrière avec un total de 184 buts et 396 passes décisives ce qui donne un total de 580 points en saison régulière de NHL. En play-offs, il a inscrit 16 buts pour 34 passes décisives en 71 matchs. Il a notamment contribué à la participation des Islanders en finale de la conférence Est en 2021.<\/p>
