Le nouveau quarterback numéro deux de Philadelphie, Marcus Mariota, a été déçu se sa prestation lors du deuxième match de présaison face aux Browns.<\/h2>

Les Eagles<\/a> se sont occupé d’un problème presque majeur pour la franchise, celui de trouver un quarterback remplaçant solide au cas où il y aurait des problèmes avec le titulaire. La saison dernière, ce problème a bien failli coûter la première place de la NFC à Philadelphie, lorsque Jalen Hurts a manqué quelques matchs de saison régulière. Ces petites absences auraient pu coûter la première place de la NFC ce qui aurait fait perdre l’avantage de la qualification directe au tour de division.<\/p>

Le match du jeudi soir opposant les Eagles aux Browns<\/a> n’a pas été réussi par Marcus Mariota, qui a complété seulement 9 passes sur 17 pour 86 yards et une interception en plus de 3 sacks. Pour être bref, Mariota n’a pas apprécié son match et est déçu de ses performances, lui sur qui compte les Eagles en cas de pépin avec Hurts.<\/p>

« J’ai été négligent », a déclaré Mariota<\/a>. « Je peux faire mieux pour que nos gars travaillent plus proprement et plus efficacement. Mais c’est à cela que sert la présaison. C’est à cela que sert la présaison. Nettoyer un peu la rouille. Nous trouverons les moyens de nous améliorer ».<\/p><\/blockquote>

Le staff des Eagles se retrouve dans une situation compliquée, étant donné qu’ils doivent tout faire pour que Mariota réussisse un minimum ce qu’il doit faire.<\/p>

« C’est aussi pour nous l’occasion de découvrir ce qu’il fait bien », a déclaré Sirianni. « Ce qu’il voit bien, ce qui lui semble bon. Je sais qu’il n’a pas joué comme il le voulait ce soir. Je ne dirais pas qu’il a eu du mal lors du dernier match. Vous avez peut-être dit cela. Je n’ai pas dit cela. Il a couru, il a fait de bons jeux et il a très bien fait circuler le ballon contre Baltimore. Ce soir, il est évident qu’il n’a pas été à la hauteur, mais il s’agit pour nous de trouver ce qui lui convient. Et c’est juste nous qui l’apprenons. C’est nous qui travaillons ensemble pour trouver ce qu’il faut. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Dans le meilleur des cas pour Philadelphie, Mariota n’aura pas besoin de jouer de match à la place de Jalen Hurts. Cependant, le monde de la NFL est imprévisible et tout peut être possible donc il faut se préparer à tout pour les Eagles.
