L’ouverture de la série de lundi soir contre les Texas Rangers est attendue avec impatience par les fans des Rays de Tampa Bay alors qu’ils se préparent à accueillir à nouveau leur meilleur as, Shane McClanahan.<\/h2>

Le retour du gaucher de la liste des blessés (IL) pourrait servir de coup de pouce crucial à une équipe qui s’accroche à une mince avance d’un match dans l’AL East.<\/p>

McClanahan, avec un bilan de 11-1 et une ERA de 2,53 cette saison, a été une force dominante pour les Rays. Non seulement il dirige l’équipe, mais il se classe également au sommet des majors en termes de victoires (à égalité) et d’ERA parmi les lanceurs qualifiés.<\/p>

Lors de ses 17 départs cette année, il a amassé un nombre impressionnant de 101 retraits au bâton en 96 manches, démontrant sa constance et son habileté au monticule.<\/p>

Cependant, ses deux derniers départs ont été préoccupants. Shane McClanahan<\/strong><\/a> a été aux prises avec une tension au milieu du dos, ce qui l’a amené sur l’IL de 15 jours après une contre performance contre les Mariners de Seattle le 30 juin. Il a accordé quatre points sur cinq coups sûrs avec trois buts sur balles en seulement trois manches à Seattle, un contraste frappant avec sa forme dominante antérieure.<\/p>

Son départ précédent l’a également vu incapable de terminer la quatrième manche.<\/p>

L’engagement de Shane McClanahan envers son équipe est sans équivoque. Ses paroles après le match contre les Mariners révèlent un joueur frustré par sa propre performance mais impatient de revenir dans l’action et d’aider son équipe à maintenir son avance dans l’AL East.<\/p>

Sa prochaine mission n’est pas une promenade de santé. Il fait face à l’une des formations les plus puissantes du baseball alors que les Rays se rendent à Arlington. Mais, si sa précédente sortie contre les Rangers est une indication, Shane McClanahan devrait être en mesure de se défendre.<\/p>

Le 11 juin, le gaucher a affronté les Rangers pour la première fois de sa carrière et a réussi à les limiter à quatre coups sûrs et trois points mérités en sept manches, en retirant cinq sur des prises et un seul but sur balle. Cette performance lui a valu une victoire et a propulsé Tampa Bay vers une victoire 7-3.<\/p>
