Lors de la free agency de la NHL, les Islanders ont conclu trois signatures dont Julien Gauthier pour ajouter de la profondeur à leur effectif.<\/h2>

Ce n’est peut être pas la transaction que le monde du hockey espérait, mais elle est tout de même nécessaire pour les Islanders<\/a> qui ajoutent de la profondeur à leur effectif. On y retrouve Julien Gauthier<\/a>, Karson Kuhlman<\/a> et Brian Pinho<\/a>. Gauthier aura le droit à deux ans de contrat pour 787 500 dollars. Kuhlman et Pinho auront eux des contrats bilatéraux d’un an.<\/p>

 <\/p>

Gauthier a été sélectionné en 21e position lors de la draft NHL de 2016 par les Carolina Hurricanes. Cependant, Gauthier n’est pas à la hauteur en tant qu’ancien choix de premier tour de draft. Il est notamment passé par les Rangers de New York<\/a> ainsi que les Senators d’Ottawa<\/a> avant d’atterrir chez les Islanders.<\/p>

Kuhlman a lui disputé 47 matchs la saison dernière avec les Seattle Kraken<\/a> et les Winnipeg Jets<\/a> avec un total de 7 points (3buts, 4 passes). Il servira, lui, de profondeur pour le milieu.<\/p>

Pinho a quant à lui passé la saison dernière en LAH (Ligue Américaine de Hockey) qui sert au développement de la LNH (ou NHL). Il a joué pour les Comets d’Utica qui est une filiale des New Jersey Devils<\/a>. Il a terminé la saison avec 28 points (10 buts, 18 passes). Il devrait logiquement jouer un rôle similaire en tant que milieu.<\/p>

Sachant que les contrats de Pinho et Kuhlman sont liés à Bridgeport (LAH), seul le contrat de Gauthier affecte le plafond salarial des Islanders.
