Marcus Smart a évoqué ses dernières conversations avec Brad Stevens et Joe Mazzulla. Ces derniers lui avaient assurés qu’il ne partirait pas.<\/b><\/h2>

Envoyé à Memphis dans l’échange de Kristaps Porzingis<\/a>, Marcus Smart<\/a> est <\/span>revenu sur ses dernières heures<\/span><\/a> en tant que celtic. Avec un sentiment de regret sur la manière de faire des dirigeants.<\/span><\/p>

Le management de Boston lui avaient affirmés une semaine auparavant qu’il ne serait pas échangé, jusqu’à ce que le transfert de Malcolm Brogdon<\/a> soit annulé. C’est finalement Marcus Smart qui sera présent dans l’échange. La direction des Celtics n’a pas tenue sa promesse.<\/span><\/p>

Le lendemain, je devais aller à la salle, récupérer mes affaires, parler à Brad et Joe. Et donc ça a été vraiment choquant de l’apprendre comme ça, surtout parce qu’une semaine auparavant, on m’avait déjà dit qu’on était bon, qu’il n’y avait pas de discussions pour des échanges pour moi, et que c’était ok. Je comprends la partie business, et j’ai toujours été comme ça. Je suis le premier à le dire à tout le monde, qu’on ne peut pas mélanger l’aspect personnel avec le professionnel. Je comprends que c’est un business. Pour moi, c’est juste de la courtoisie. Ils savaient probablement déjà qu’ils pensaient à m’échanger, et que c’était dans un coin de leur tête au cas où quelque chose coinçait. C’est juste le fait de me dire : ‘Hey, on pense qu’on va t’échanger, on voulait juste que tu le saches, merci pour tout’.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>

Si Marcus Smart est enthousiaste concernant sa nouvelle franchise, il a tout de même tenu à éviter tout malentendu sur son rapport avec Boston. Il a insisté sur le fait qu’il n’y avait rien d’autre que de l’affection pour les membres des Celtics et sa communauté.<\/span><\/p>

C’était difficile de voir les textos, d’entendre les voix des gars qui disaient au revoir, de se rappeler les bons moments. Jayson et Jaylen sont mes frères pour la vie, et ce que les gens voient ne suffit pas à refléter la nature de notre relation. On a traversé beaucoup de choses ensemble, on est allés au feu. Ma mère est décédée et J.B. était l’un des passagers de l’avion qui est venu à Dallas pour les funérailles. Je tiens donc à faire taire toutes les rumeurs selon lesquelles J.B. et moi aurions eu un différend. Je n’ai aucun problème avec les Celtics, ni avec aucun de mes coéquipiers, je les aime, ils m’aiment. Nous sommes des frères et je sais que si j’ai besoin de quelque chose, je peux les appeler et vice-versa. Entre JB et moi ça va très bien, c’est mon frère. Il m’a envoyé un texto et il était aussi déçu que moi. Donc on est bien ensemble et ce n’est pas parce que JB ou l’un de mes coéquipiers n’a rien posté que ça veut dire qu’on est en froid.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>
