Pour la présentation d’Amen Thompson à Houston, toute la famille était présente.<\/b><\/h2>

Fait rare lors d’une présentation d’un joueur face à la presse : un joueur d’un autre franchise était présent. Ausar Thompson<\/a>, sélectionné par les Detroit Pistons à la 5e position de la Draft, était à Houston pour assister à la conférence de presse de son frère Amen<\/a>, choisi en 4e position par les Rockets. Le père, la mère et le grand-frère de la famille étaient eux aussi présents. Troy Thompson Jr., le frère aîné, est <\/span>revenu sur le parcours<\/span><\/a> de ses deux frères.<\/span><\/p>

Tous ceux qui me connaissent savent qu’au cours des 14 dernières années, j’ai toujours dit qu’ils allaient faire partie de la NBA  et qu’ils seraient à surveiller. Ils sont très particuliers. La carrière d’Amen sera un film. Je ne veux pas lui porter la poisse, mais je vais me mouiller et dire que ce sera … bon pour lui, bon pour la ville et bon pour le basket. Je pense qu’ils seront parmi les meilleurs basketteurs de l’histoire.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>

Maya Thompson, la mère, est <\/span>fière de la réussite<\/span><\/a> de ses fils.<\/span><\/p>

Ils sont extrêmement déterminés, concentrés, tout simplement uniques et matures. C’est une chose que je découvre de plus en plus. Je les observe dans ces situations, la façon avec laquelle ils sont capables de maîtriser leurs sentiments, leurs positions, d’être réfléchis, prévenants, d’avoir l’esprit d’équipe et d’être humbles.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>

Il y a un an, Troy Thompson Sr., le père, avait pronostiqué que ses jumeaux allait être dans le top 3 de la Draft. À<\/span> quelques positions près, il n’est pas passé loin de la vérité.<\/span><\/p>

 <\/p>

Nous étions tous là, ensemble, pour mettre en place ce projet.  Nous nous sommes dit : « Si vous voulez le faire, voilà ce qu’il faut faire ». Ce qui arrive est surréaliste, mais c’était attendu. Ce n’est pas comme si nous étions surpris qu’ils soient allés en NBA, car c’était leur objectif. Ils n’ont cessé de progresser au fil des ans. La NBA est le début de l’objectif final.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>

Peut-être qu’un jour, les deux frères se retrouveront sous le même maillot en NBA. Pour le moment et les prochaines années, ils vont devoir apprendre à vivre et grandir séparément.  <\/span>« Je pense que nous allons nous adapter. Ce sera peut-être un peu difficile, mais je pense qu’on s’en sortira. Je sais que je vais m’en sortir.
