Dû au transfert de Rudy Gobert, les Minnesota Timberwolves possèdent comme seul choix de Draft le 53e cette année.<\/b><\/h2>

À la Draft 2023, le Utah Jazz va sélectionner trois joueurs au premier tour, avec les 9e, 16e et 28e choix. Le 16e choix vient de Minnesota, présent dans le transfert de Rudy Gobert<\/a> la saison passée.<\/span><\/p>

 <\/p>

Les Minnesota Timberwolves eux, doivent se contenter du 53e choix et ne peuvent pas prendre de joueurs au premier tour. Pourtant, Tim Connelly, président de Minnesota, <\/span>aimerait monter à la Draft<\/span><\/a> et aller chercher une meilleure place.<\/span><\/p>

On discute beaucoup. Je ne pense pas que nous soyons près d’atteindre le premier tour. En général, beaucoup d’appels sont théoriques jusqu’aux dernières 24 heures. On verra bien.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>

Même si le 53e choix semble loin pour acquérir un jeune qui peut apporter ses qualités à l’effectif, Connelly cherche “<\/span>quelqu’un qui pourrait s’intégrer à notre culture. Si vous regardez les choix qu’ils font au deuxième tour, c’est la personne qui compte plus que le talent. On donnera probablement la priorité à un joueur qui peut contribuer à la culture de l’équipe.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>

Tim Connelly assure aussi que les Minnesota Timberwolves ne devraient pas changer le cœur de l’équipe, malgré les rumeurs autour de Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>

Nous avons un <\/span>noyau dur et on est impatients de le retrouver. Il y a eu des hauts et des bas. Notre incapacité à gagner suffisamment de matches contre des équipes qui avaient des bilans moins bons nous a vraiment fait mal. … On peut pointer du doigt des matches spécifiques où nous n’avons pas été assez bons.  On doit avoir une approche à long terme pour tout, mais nous sommes très enthousiastes pour le mois d’octobre prochain. On a un gymnase rempli de gars en ce moment, l’énergie est fantastique. Une fois de plus, on a une équipe d’entraîneurs et des propriétaires formidables, donc on est très enthousiastes pour l’année prochaine. Je pense que, parfois, on peut être trop concentré sur les trois à cinq années à venir et ne pas penser à ce que cela va être le 28 octobre au Target Center.<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>

La Draft ne semble donc pas être la priorité du management des Minnesota Timberwolves.
