Cette semaine a vu l’ancien attaquant des Blackhawks de Chicago et des Rangers de New York Patrick Kane passer sous le bistouri pour une opération de resurfaçage de la hanche.<\/h2>

L’opération, annoncée par son agent Pat Brisson, devrait le placer sur le banc pour une période substantielle de quatre à six mois, jetant une longue ombre sur son futur<\/p>

À 34 ans, Patrick Kane<\/strong><\/a> s’est imposé comme l’un des attaquants les plus célèbres de la LNH, sa maîtrise sur la glace ayant permis aux Blackhawks de remporter la coupe Stanley à trois reprises. Cependant, depuis son arrivée chez les Rangers de New York lors de la dernière trade deadline, l’éclat de son ancienne gloire s’est apparemment émoussé.<\/p>

La saison 2022-23 a marqué un point bas dans l’illustre carrière de Patrick Kane, surtout si l’on considère ses prouesses loin de la rondelle. Auparavant, toute diminution perçue des performances était attribuée au simple effet du temps et à la réalité que Patrick Kane, même à son zénith, n’a jamais été un joueur défensif virtuose.<\/p>

Cependant, cette opération de la hanche révèle une raison plus profonde de sa forme décroissante.<\/p>

Bien que l’agent de Kane ait affirmé que l’attaquant avait l’intention de continuer à jouer pendant un certain temps, des questions surgissent maintenant concernant son efficacité post-opératoire. Le duo des Capitals de Washington composé de Nicklas Backstrom<\/strong><\/a> et Carl Hagelin<\/strong><\/a> a également subi cette procédure au cours de la dernière année. Backstrom, du même âge que Kane au moment de son opération, est revenu cette saison pour participer à 39 matchs, totalisant 21 points au total. Hagelin, cependant, n’a pas du tout été vu sur la glace cette saison.<\/p>

L’opération met Patrick Kane dans un calendrier serré. Avec les quatre à six mois de récupération prévus, son retour le plus tôt possible coïnciderait avec le retour des équipes de la LNH pour le camp d’entraînement en septembre. Au plus tard, il raterait les premiers mois de la saison, revenant en novembre.<\/p>

Avant ce développement, la free agency de Patrick Kane était déjà un sujet d’intrigue. Malgré son statut de joueur célèbre et d’atout offensif, sa récente performance indique que ses jours en tant que joueur d’impact s’estompent. Au lieu de cela, il semblait mieux adapté à un rôle complémentaire sur un prétendant à la Coupe Stanley plutôt qu’en tant que leader de premier plan.<\/p>

L’incertitude entourant le retour de Kane sur la glace a sûrement compliqué les prochaines décisions d’agence libre. Une équipe sera-t-elle prête à parier sur lui en juillet ou en août, compte tenu de l’ambiguïté de sa date de retour ?
