Dans un événement qui marque une sorte de retour aux sources, le spécialiste des retours deux fois All-Big Ten de Michigan, AJ Henning, a annoncé son transfert à Northwestern.<\/h2>

Le très talentueux retourneur de coups de pied a dévoilé son départ jeudi via les réseaux sociaux,<\/a> suscitant une vague d’anticipation parmi les fans et les anciens de Northwestern.<\/p>

AJ Henning, originaire de l’Illinois, est sur le point de retourner dans son état d’origine après être entré sur le portail de transfert le mois dernier. Sa décision de rejoindre l’équipe de football de la Northwestern University, également connue sous le nom de Wildcats, peut être considérée comme un clin d’œil à ses racines.<\/p>

En 2019, il a reçu l’honneur de Gatorade Player of the Year pour l’État de l’Illinois, à la suite d’une performance exceptionnelle au Lincoln-Way East High School de Frankfort, dans l’Illinois.<\/p>

Il a tweeté son annonce à côté d’une photo de lui-même vêtu d’un uniforme du Nord-Ouest, sous-titrée : « Au berceau, travaillons !! @NUFBFamily. »<\/p>

Cette déclaration succincte résume sa volonté de contribuer au programme de Northwestern tout en renouant avec son État d’origine.<\/p>

AJ Henning, au cours de sa première année à Michigan, était une force absolue sur le terrain. Avec 201 yards et un touchdown sur 28 retours de dégagement, aux côtés de 241 yards sur 11 retours de coup d’envoi, il était la pierre angulaire de l’unité des équipes spéciales des Wolverines. Sa performance lui a valu le titre de joueur de l’année des équipes spéciales des Wolverines, ainsi que la reconnaissance du spécialiste du retour de la deuxième équipe All-Big Ten par les médias et les entraîneurs.<\/p>

En plus de ses fonctions de retour, AJ Henning a montré sa polyvalence en attaque. Au cours de son mandat de trois ans à Michigan, il a enregistré 15 réceptions pour 186 yards et deux touchdowns. Sa performance au cours de la saison 2021 lui a également valu les honneurs de la troisième équipe All-Big Ten en tant qu’homme de retour des entraîneurs et des médias, après ses 14 retours de coup d’envoi pour 179 yards et un TD, plus 14 retours de dégagement pour 29 yards.<\/p>
