Après avoir signé vendredi une prolongation massive de contrat de 90 millions de dollars sur quatre ans, Dexter Lawrence a clairement indiqué qu’il visait bien plus qu’un simple succès financier.<\/h2>

Le plaçant au troisième rang des plaquages défensifs en moyenne annuelle derrière Aaron Donald et Jeffery Simmons, le contrat représente une étape importante dans sa carrière. Cependant, Dexter Lawrence<\/strong><\/a> a souligné qu’il ne visait pas des contrats record, mais cherchait plutôt à gagner le respect sur le terrain et, finalement, à être considéré comme un membre légendaire du Hall of Fame.<\/p>

Tout en discutant de ses ambitions, Dexter Lawrence a mentionné que le repêchage n’était que la première étape de son parcours. Depuis lors, il s’est concentré sur la croissance et l’amélioration constantes, à la fois en tant que personne et en tant que joueur. Son engagement envers le développement était évident dans sa performance de 2022, au cours de laquelle il a établi des sommets en carrière dans les sacks (7,5), les plaquages (68) et les coups sur quarterback (28).<\/p>

Malgré ces chiffres impressionnants, Dexter Lawrence est pleinement conscient qu’il a encore un long chemin à parcourir avant d’atteindre le statut de Hall of Famer.<\/p>

Au cours de ses quatre saisons, il n’a pas encore remporté de sélection All-Pro dans la première équipe et n’a fait qu’une seule apparition au Pro Bowl, accumulant 16,5 sacks en carrière. Comparé aux réalisations en début de carrière du futur Hall of Famer Aaron Donald ou Jeffery Simmons, il est évident que Lawrence doit continuer à élever son jeu pour atteindre leur niveau de réussite.<\/p>

« Mon objectif ultime est d’être légendaire, d’être un Hall of Famer », a déclaré Lawrence, via une transcription de l’équipe.<\/a> « J’ai été repêché. C’est une étape. OK, passons une bonne année rookie. Ne commettons pas les mêmes erreurs l’année prochaine. Continuons à construire jusqu’à ce que vous arriviez là où vous en êtes, et je ne suis pas là où je suis maintenant, là où je veux être. Je pense que c’est juste une croissance constante, en tant que personne honnêtement, puis en tant que joueur. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Cependant, Lawrence reste confiant dans ses capacités et est déterminé à affiner davantage ses compétences. Il reconnaît ouvertement les matchs qu’il a ratés la saison dernière et s’engage à travailler sur son art et à capitaliser sur les opportunités à venir. Au lieu de se comparer aux autres, Lawrence se concentre sur ses propres performances et sur les normes élevées qu’il s’est fixées.<\/p>
