Le droitier des Astros de Houston, Luis Garcia, subira une opération de type Tommy John et manquera le reste de la saison 2023 de la MLB.<\/h2>

Cela constitue un autre revers important pour la rotation de départ des Astros, qui a déjà fait face à plusieurs défis cette année.<\/p>

Luis Garcia<\/strong><\/a>, 26 ans, a été placé sur la liste des blessés de 15 jours cette semaine après avoir ressenti une gêne au coude lors du départ de lundi contre les Giants de San Francisco. La date de l’opération n’a pas encore été déterminée et les Astros s’attendent à ce que Garcia revienne à un moment donné au cours de la saison 2024.<\/p>

Le manager d’Astros, Dusty Baker, a commenté la situation en déclarant<\/a>:<\/p>

« C’est un coup dur. Je veux dire, je priais pour que ce soit quelque chose de différent, quelque chose de mineur. Vous avez toujours peur de ça quand c’est dans le coude. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Avant sa blessure, Garcia détenait un bilan de 2-2 avec une ERA de 4,00 en six départs cette saison. En 2022, il a terminé avec un bilan de 15-8 avec une ERA de 3,72 en 28 départs et a terminé deuxième lors du vote de rookie de l’année de la Ligue américaine 2021 avec un bilan de 11-8 et une ERA de 3,48 en 30 matchs (28 départs).<\/p>

La nouvelle de la blessure de Garcia a coïncidé avec le placement de son compatriote droitier Jose Urquidy en IL en raison d’une inflammation de son épaule. De plus, les Astros ont été privés du deuxième but vedette Jose Altuve, qui s’est cassé le pouce droit lors de la Classique mondiale de baseball, et du voltigeur vétéran Michael Brantley, qui se remet d’une opération à l’épaule droite.<\/p>

Le voltigeur Chas McCormick<\/strong><\/a> est également absent depuis le 15 avril en raison d’une tension dans le bas du dos. Cependant, Baker a mentionné que McCormick et Brantley pourraient rejoindre les Astros plus tard au cours de leur road trip, probablement lorsque l’équipe affrontera les Angels en Californie du Sud.<\/p>

France, 28 ans, devrait être activé samedi pour faire ses débuts en ligue majeure contre les Mariners.
