Shohei Ohtani a commencé la saison MLB 2023 avec une nouveauté, en utilisant un appareil PitchCom pour appeler ses propres lancers.<\/strong><\/h2>

Caché sous son maillot près de son épaule gauche, l’appareil a permis à Ohtani de prendre en main son jeu sur le monticule. Malgré un pépin initial, la performance d’Ohtani a été aussi dominante que jamais, en retirant 10 frappeurs et n’accordant que deux coups sûrs en six manches contre les Athletics d’Oakland.<\/p>

La décision de Shohei Ohtani d’appeler son propre jeu a été motivée par les restrictions du chronomètre de terrain. Au début, il semblait y avoir une rupture de communication entre Ohtani et son receveur, Logan O’Hoppe. Après un bref retour aux signes traditionnels, les deux ont recommencé à utiliser l’appareil PitchCom, et Shohei Ohtani s’est rapidement installé dans un groove efficace. Il était si efficace qu’à un moment donné, l’arbitre du marbre Adrian Johnson a dû lui rappeler d’attendre que le frappeur entre dans la surface avant de lancer.<\/p>

Dans la quatrième manche, Ohtani a fait face à une situation difficile avec Aledmys Diaz en troisième et Seth Brown en deuxième. La Major League Baseball a approuvé l’utilisation de PitchCom pour les lanceurs il y a à peine une semaine. « C’est génial en tant que fan. Vous devez le voir. Il lance 100, puis se dirige vers le marbre et frappe la balle où il veut. Qu’est-ce qu’il ne faut pas aimer? »<\/p><\/blockquote>
