Sam Howell, le 3ème passeur de la franchise, a eu une sacrée promotion : Il passe numéro 1 pour la saison prochaine<\/h2>

Exit Carson Wentz<\/a> et sa saison compliquée, minée par les blessures à répétition. Exit également le talentueux Taylor Heinicke<\/a>. Voici Sam Howell<\/a>, ex Quarterback des Tar Heels de la Caroline du Nord qui a été nommé numéro 1 par le Head coach Ron Rivera.<\/p>

La providence viendrait donc de Sam Howell pour l’an prochain. Et le moins que l’on puisse dire, c’est qu’il est sacrément content<\/a> :<\/p>

« J’ai été évidemment super excité quand je l’ai appris (sa nomination, Ndlr). Et je suis très reconnaissant envers Coach Rivera de m’offrir cette opportunité. Je dois maintenant me mettre tout de suite au travail, et faire de cette opportunité une réelle chance et en profiter pour faire ce que je sais faire et faire ce qu’il y a de mieux pour que l’équipe gagne. Le processus est inchangé : J’ai toujours tenté d’être le meilleur possible. Et grâce à cette opportunité que l’on m’offre, il faut que j’en profite.<\/p><\/blockquote>

Les Commanders<\/a> sont en train de se refaire une attaque avec l’arrivée toute récente de l’ex Coordinateur des Chiefs<\/a>, Eric Bienemy<\/a>. Howell a déclaré qu’il avait hâte de travailler avec lui :<\/p>

« Nous n’avons pas eu la chance de parler football encore tous les deux, mais je suis super fan de lui. Je suis très impressionné par l’homme qu’il est. Juste lui parler c’est fou. Evidemment, je suis conscient qu’il vient d’une équipe qui a eu beaucoup de succès ces derniers temps, notamment en attaque. Je suis donc très excité d’apprendre de lui »<\/p><\/blockquote>

C’est un choix audacieux, et peut-être dangereux que les Commanders ont fait. Sam Howell n’a pas réellement fait ses preuves. Il n’a joué qu’un match l’an dernier. Certes, il l’a gagné 26-6, mais c’était lors de la dernière journée et face à l’équipe B des Cowboys<\/a> qui avaient mis tout le monde au repos pour préparer le match de Wild card face aux Bucs<\/a>. (Pour gagner 31-14 et ensuite subir cette formidable défaite 19-12 face aux Niners<\/a>, le tour d’après… #ironie, un peu d’humour n’a jamais tué personne).<\/p>
