LaMelo Ball est sorti grimaçant face aux Rockets, touché la cheville.<\/strong><\/h2>

La saison difficile des Charlotte Hornets continue, avec la nouvelle blessure du 3ème<\/sup><\/span> choix de la Draft 2020 hier soir (victoire 122-117 face aux Rockets). Le jeune meneur des Hornets a quitté le parquet, après un contact avec son propre coéquipier (PJ Washington). Contestant un shoot de Jabari Smith Jr, l’ailier fort de Charlotte est retombé de tout son poids (104kg) sur la cheville gauche de LaMelo Ball<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>

Incapable de se relever, le benjamin de la fratrie Ball (21ans) a été raccompagné aux vestiaires la mine défaite. Selon les premières informations, le numéro 0 de la franchise de Caroline du Nord souffrirait d’une entorse, dont la durée d’absence n’a pas encore été communiquée.<\/p>

LaMelo Ball a ainsi déclaré<\/a>:<\/p>

« Je me sens un peu mieux. C’est différent des dernières fois, donc je pense que ça ira. Je peux marcher, donc je vais voir au jour le jour comment ça évolue »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Déjà blessé à deux reprises à cette même cheville (en pré-saison, puis le 16 novembre), la malchance semble poursuivre le Rookie of the Year 2021 : il s’était déjà tourné la cheville en retombant sur le pied d’un fan lors du match contre les Pacers. Charlotte a disputé 22 de ses 46 matchs sans son meneur titulaire cette saison, qui réalise la meilleure saison de carrière avec 24 points, 8.4 assists, 5.4 rebonds et 1.1 interception (42%\/37%\/87%).<\/p>

Avec le 3ème<\/sup><\/span> pire bilan de la NBA et l’avant dernière place à l’Est, les Hornets connaissent une saison délicate après avoir terminé leur trois dernières à la 10ème<\/sup><\/span> place. La séduisante équipe de 2021, après la draft de LaMelo Ball, semble avoir disparue, plombée par les blessures (Gordon Hayward, Kelly Oubre Jr) et les problèmes extra-sportifs (Miles Bridges, James Bouknight).<\/p>

La franchise semble se focaliser sur la Draft 2023, pour repartir de l’avant dès la saison prochaine, cherchant notamment des 1ers<\/sup><\/span> tours de Draft contre certains de ses joueurs (Terry Rozier a été évoqué).<\/p>

Cette mauvaise nouvelle vient quelque peu gâcher une belle soirée pour Steve Clifford.
