Sean Payton est dans toutes les discussions en ce moment. Tom Brady également, depuis son élimination relativement brutale face aux Cowboys. Les deux hommes pourraient-ils unir leurs forces…Chez les Panthers ?<\/a><\/h2>

Il y a un an, personne ne savait que Sean Payton, l’ex coach des Saints<\/a>, et Tom Brady<\/a>, encore chez les Buccaneers<\/a>, avaient tenté d’unir leurs forces pour rejoindre les Dolphins<\/a>.<\/p>

Finalement, lorsque tout le monde l’avait su, tout était parti en sucette. Les discussions ne menèrent nulle part, et bla bla bla, les Dolphins n’ont de toute façon aucun 1st pick (ni de picks intéressants d’ailleurs, de par le recrutement de Hill<\/a> et de Chubb<\/a> notamment) pour la draft 2023.<\/p>

Nous savons tous désormais que Tom Brady est Free Agent à partir de Mars, et prêt à prendre ses valises pour quitter Tampa Bay (ou partir à la retraite, ça, c’est la deuxième option). Payton, quant à lui, a montré de l’intérêt envers 4 équipes, qu’il va ou qu’il a déjà rencontré. La question est celle ci : Est-ce qu’ils pourraient rejoindre la même équipe pour la saison prochaine ?<\/p>

Les 4 équipes concernées sont les Broncos<\/a>, les Cardinals<\/a>, les Texans<\/a> et les Panthers<\/a>. Les deux premières ont déjà des Quarterbacks (Wilson<\/a> à gauche et Murray<\/a> à droite) et ces derniers sont sous des contrats massifs et indestructibles comme l’acier. Nous pouvons d’ores et déjà les exclure. Les Texans ont besoin de bien plus qu’un « simple » Tom Brady pour être à nouveau compétitifs. Il reste donc les Panthers !<\/p>

Les Panthers sont la dernière équipe que Payton va rencontrer. L’équipe de Charlotte qui représente les deux Carolines en NFL, a une excellente défense, de très bons receveurs, un bon jeu de course et une ligne offensive plutôt performante. Tous ces éléments pourraient jouer en leur faveur.<\/p>

Le propriétaire des Panthers, Danny Morrison, avait déjà montré son désespoir de ne pas avoir de « franchise Quarterback » et de Coach digne de ce nom. Alors même si Brady signerait, c’est certain, un contrat de courte durée (1 an ?), rien que son nom ferait remplir le stade, ferait vendre des maillots par milliers, et provoquerait un raz de marée d’excitation dans les deux Etats (Nord et Sud).<\/p>

Et ne nous mentons pas. La division de la NFC Sud cette année, n’a pas été très bonne. Toutes les équipes ayant fini avec une fiche négative (7-10 pour les Panthers, deuxièmes de la division derrière les Bucs, 8-9), les Panthers, avec Tom Brady aux commandes, deviendraient automatiquement les favoris au titre de champions de division pour la saison prochaine, et pourquoi pas , un prétendant au titre national.<\/p>

On nous dit dans l’oreillette que la réunion du duo serait aussi leur manière d’envoyer un doigt d’honneur aux instances de la NFL. Souvenez vous, Sean Payton avait été suspendu un an en 2012 pour fraude fiscale. Brady avait été suspendu 4 matchs en 2016 pour l’histoire du « Deflategate » (les fameux ballons dégonflés en finale de conférence 2015 face aux Colts<\/a> pour avantager Brady. Les Pats avaient remporté le match 45-7. Puis le Super Bowl 49 face aux Seahawks<\/a>, 28-24. ndlr). Et leur tentative de rejoindre les Dolphins, ou tout du moins, d’avoir engagé des conversations avec eux sans accord préalable, avait coûté à la franchise Floridienne un premier choix lors de la draft 2022.<\/p>

Alors si la réunion des deux hommes arrive, cela va sûrement provoquer chagrin et consternation dans les quartiers généraux du 345 Park Avenue à Manhattan, siège de la NFL depuis 2012.<\/p>

Cela prendra tout son sens, et en tout cas, cela cache sûrement un plan machiavélique de la part de deux concernés. Nous en saurons plus dans quelques semaines.<\/p>
