Le 8 février 2026 restera gravé dans l’histoire de la NFL. En terrassant les Patriots sur le score de 29 à 13, les Seattle Seahawks ont décroché leur deuxième titre de vainqueur du Super Bowl<\/a>, portés par un Kenneth Walker III étincelant. Premier running back sacré MVP du Super Bowl depuis Terrell Davis en 1998, Walker a prouvé qu’il était un moteur capable de porter une franchise sur ses épaules. Pourtant, à peine les confettis ramassés, une question brûle les lèvres des observateurs: où jouera-t-il la saison prochaine?<\/p>

Une saison historique et un dilemme financier<\/h2>

Kenneth Walker III<\/a> sort de sa campagne la plus aboutie, ayant disputé pour la première fois l’intégralité des 17 matchs de saison régulière. Durant cette période, il a franchi la barre symbolique des 1 000 yards au sol avec une moyenne solide de 4,6 yards par portée. Mais c’est véritablement lors des phases finales qu’il a changé de dimension. Après avoir martyrisé les 49ers et les Rams, il a conclu son épopée par une performance de titan au Super Bowl LX en accumulant 135 yards à la course. Son bilan en quatre saisons à Seattle est vertigineux avec 3 555 yards au sol pour 29 touchdowns, auxquels s’ajoutent plus de 1 000 yards gagnés dans les airs.<\/p>

Malgré ce statut, Seattle se retrouve face à un mur financier. Le franchise tag pour un running back en 2026 est estimé à 14,5 millions de dollars, un montant que le manager général John Schneider rechigne à investir sur cette position. Parallèlement, la franchise doit impérativement prolonger d’autres piliers et non des moindres comme Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Pour Walker, l’envie de tester le marché afin de décrocher un contrat à long terme, estimé entre 12 et 14 millions annuels, pourrait donc l’éloigner définitivement de l’état de Washington.<\/p>

Kenneth Walker III: quelle destination pour 2026?<\/h2>

Bien que la continuité à Seattle reste l’option la plus logique sur le papier, surtout après la blessure de Zach Charbonnet qui laisse un vide dans le backfield, plusieurs concurrents sont prêts à sortir le carnet de chèques. Les Houston Texans apparaissent comme les favoris en cas de départ; ils cherchent désespérément un remplaçant d’élite à Joe Mixon et possèdent l’espace salarial nécessaire pour épauler C.J. Stroud avec un coureur de ce calibre.<\/p>

Du côté du Colorado, Sean Payton pourrait voir en Walker le profil polyvalent idéal pour dynamiser l’attaque des Denver Broncos. Les Los Angeles Chargers sont également à surveiller de près puisque l’arrivée de Mike McDaniel comme coordinateur offensif suggère une utilisation accrue de la vitesse au sol, rappelant ses schémas parfois victorieux à Miami. Enfin, les Chicago Bears pourraient créer la surprise s’ils décident de se séparer de leurs vétérans pour entourer Caleb Williams d’une arme fatale. De nombreux candidats donc pour accueillir ce joueur de talent. <\/p>
