Les critiques concernant la pelouse du MetLife Stadium ne sont pas une nouveauté en NFL. Cette semaine, c’était au tour de Jacobs de donner son avis sur le terrain. Le running back des Green Bay Packers a subi une blessure au genou<\/a> lors du match de dimanche dernier contre les New York Giants.<\/p>

\n

« C’est définitivement la pire [pelouse] » a déclaré Jacobs à Matt Schneidman de The Athletic<\/em>.<\/a> « Ça a toujours été la pire. Si je rejoue là-bas, je n’en parlerai plus, parce que j’en ai parlé toute la semaine, à quel point c’était mauvais, et maintenant j’en paie le karma. »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Jacobs s’est blessé au début de la rencontre et a dû être évalué par l’équipe médicale dès le premier quart-temps. Il a tenté de rester sur le terrain, mais a dû quitter le match avant même la mi-temps. Après des examens en début de semaine, l’équipe a écarté la nécessité d’une opération, mais la disponibilité du running back pour la rencontre de dimanche contre les Minnesota Vikings reste incertaine<\/a>.<\/p>

Un changement de pelouse prévu?<\/h2>

En 2023, le MetLife a adopté une nouvelle surface synthétique, mais le stade devrait passer à une pelouse naturelle pour accueillir la Coupe du monde 2026<\/a>. Cependant, la tendance est que le stade, partagé par les Giants et les New York Jets, revienne à une pelouse artificielle après l’événement.<\/p>

L’Association des joueurs de la NFL demande depuis des années l’adoption d’une pelouse naturelle dans tous les stades, mais n’a pas encore réussi à en faire une obligation. Peut-être que les nombreuses blessures viendront changer la donne.<\/p>
