La saison des Chicago Cubs s’est achevée samedi dernier après leur élimination en NLDS, et Kyle Tucker se prépare désormais à devenir agent libre en MLB.<\/p>

Le voltigeur droit des Cubs, Kyle Tucker, n’a pas souhaité s’engager sur son avenir immédiat avec la franchise après la défaite contre les Milwaukee Brewers lors du match 5 de la série. Interrogé à la fin de la rencontre, il a préféré rester prudent sur la possibilité d’un retour à Chicago :<\/p>

“On verra bien ce qui se passera. Je ne sais pas ce que l’avenir me réserve. Si ce n’est pas ici, ce fut un honneur de jouer avec tous ces gars. Je leur souhaite à tous bonne chance, qu’ils rejouent ensemble l’an prochain ou non. C’est un groupe très amusant à côtoyer.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Lors d’une interview accordée à ESPN<\/em> aux États-Unis<\/a>, Tucker a cherché à éviter le sujet, expliquant que la défaite était encore trop fraîche pour penser à son avenir. Il a toutefois reconnu qu’il y réfléchirait pendant l’intersaison, sans confirmer si les Cubs auraient un avantage lors des discussions à venir en free agency.<\/p>

“J’étais concentré sur le match de ce soir, c’est tout”, a-t-il ajouté. “Je vais digérer ça aujourd’hui et j’y penserai plus tard.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Parcours de Kyle Tucker<\/h2>

Après sept saisons réussies chez les Houston Astros<\/strong>, marquées par un titre en World Series<\/strong>, Kyle Tucker avait rejoint les Chicago Cubs<\/strong> au début de l’année dans le cadre d’un échange. Les Cubs espéraient qu’il deviendrait un pilier offensif de leur effectif et les aiderait à viser le titre.<\/p>

Cependant, la première saison de Tucker à Chicago ne s’est pas déroulée comme prévu. Miné par les blessures — une fracture de la main et une distension au mollet —, il n’a disputé que 136 matchs<\/strong>, frappant 22 home runs<\/strong> et 73 points produits<\/strong>.<\/p>

Durant les playoffs<\/strong>, il a affiché une moyenne de .259 au bâton<\/strong>, avec 1 home run, 7 coups sûrs, 5 points marqués et 5 walks<\/strong> en huit matchs, disputés contre les San Diego Padres<\/strong> et les Milwaukee Brewers<\/strong>.<\/p>

La campagne des Cubs a pris fin samedi soir après leur défaite face à leurs rivaux de division lors du match décisif de la NLDS.<\/p>
