Jannik Sinner va perdre des points après avoir été contraint d’abandonner à Shanghai, où il défendait son titre.<\/p>

Le champion en titre, Jannik Sinner<\/strong>, a dû se retirer du Rolex Shanghai Masters 2025<\/strong> à cause d’une blessure survenue de manière inattendue. Le numéro 2 mondial menait un duel intense contre le Néerlandais Tallon Griekspoor<\/strong>, avant d’abandonner alors qu’il était mené 6-7(3), 7-5, 3-2 [abandon]. En pleine lutte avec Carlos Alcaraz<\/strong> pour la place de numéro 1 mondial en fin de saison, ce forfait pourrait sérieusement compromettre ses ambitions de trône.<\/p>

Une saison 2025 exceptionnelle pour Sinner<\/h2>

En début de saison, Jannik Sinner<\/strong> affichait un palmarès impressionnant : vainqueur de l’US Open<\/strong>, du Masters de Shanghai<\/strong>, du Six Kings Slam<\/strong> et du Nitto ATP Finals<\/strong>. Il avait également mené l’Italie à un deuxième sacre consécutif en Coupe Davis<\/strong>. À l’Open d’Australie 2025<\/strong>, il a conservé son titre avec brio, battant Alexander Zverev<\/strong> en trois sets en finale.<\/p>

Mais juste après ce triomphe, le joueur italien a été suspendu trois mois pour dopage<\/strong>. De retour sur le circuit à Rome, il a enchaîné deux finales consécutives<\/strong> – au Masters de Rome<\/strong> et à Roland-Garros<\/strong>, cette dernière perdue contre Alcaraz au terme d’un match d’anthologie<\/strong>.<\/p>

La suite fut tout aussi impressionnante : victoire à Wimbledon<\/strong>, mais deux nouvelles défaites contre Alcaraz<\/strong> lors de la tournée nord-américaine, ce qui lui a coûté la place de numéro 1 mondial.<\/p>

À l’Open de Chine 2024<\/strong>, les deux rivaux s’étaient déjà affrontés en finale, Alcaraz l’emportant après trois sets spectaculaires. Cette année, le jeune Espagnol a préféré disputer le tournoi ATP 500 de Tokyo, laissant le champ libre à Sinner, qui a remporté le titre à Pékin. Cependant, à Shanghai<\/strong>, après une victoire inaugurale contre Daniel Altmaier<\/strong>, l’Italien a dû abandonner face à Griekspoor<\/strong>, stoppé net dans son élan.<\/p>

Sinner blessé : peut-il encore devenir numéro 1 mondial ?<\/h2>

L’abandon de Sinner<\/strong><\/a> au Rolex Shanghai Masters<\/strong> laisse le tableau masculin très ouvert, mais représente surtout un coup dur dans la course au trône mondial<\/strong>. Son élimination au 2e tour<\/strong> ne lui rapporte que 50 points ATP<\/strong>, contre 1000 points<\/strong> l’année dernière après sa victoire sur Novak Djokovic<\/strong> en finale.<\/p>

De son côté, Alcaraz<\/strong>, quart de finaliste en 2024, perd 200 points<\/strong> après avoir déclaré forfait pour le tournoi. Il tombe ainsi à 11 340 points<\/strong>, tandis que Sinner chute à 10 000 points<\/strong>. Cela laisse à l’Espagnol une avance confortable de 1 340 points<\/strong>.<\/p>

Pour la suite de la saison, Sinner<\/strong> devrait participer à l’ATP 500 de Vienne<\/strong>, au Masters de Paris-Bercy<\/strong> et au Nitto ATP Finals<\/strong>. Même en remportant ces trois tournois, Alcaraz<\/strong> n’aurait besoin que de 461 points supplémentaires<\/strong> pour verrouiller la première place mondiale de 2025.<\/p>

Les statistiques sont claires : l’Espagnol a environ 85 à 90 % de chances de conserver le trône<\/strong>, malgré la saison exceptionnelle de son rival italien.<\/p>
