Les Jacksonville Jaguars pourraient bien demander à leur phénomène Travis Hunter d’en faire encore davantage ce week-end face aux Texans de Houston. L’ancien lauréat du trophée Heisman, choisi en deuxième position de la dernière draft, impressionne déjà par sa polyvalence et sa capacité à enchaîner les snaps.<\/p>

Une participation de plus en plus grande pour Travis Hunter<\/h2>

Lors de la week 1, Travis Hunter a participé à 44 snaps principalement en attaque. La semaine passée, lors de la défaite 31-27 contre Cincinnati<\/a>, Hunter a disputé 85 actions, réparties presque équitablement entre attaque et défense. Une charge de travail impressionnante pour un rookie, d’autant qu’il sortait tout juste d’une blessure à l’épaule contractée en fin de camp d’entraînement. Mais le joueur ne semble pas inquiet.<\/p>

« Mon corps se sent bien. À l’université, je jouais bien plus » a-t-il rappelé balayant les doutes sur sa résistance<\/a>.<\/p>

Et il pourrait être encore plus sollicité ce dimanche. L’attaque des Jaguars est diminuée par la méforme et la blessure au poignet du receveur Brian Thomas Jr., tandis que la défense doit composer avec les soucis de dos de Jarrian Jones. Hunter pourrait donc être aligné davantage comme receveur intérieur, mais aussi comme cornerback extérieur dans les schémas défensifs.<\/p>

Une bénéfice ou un risque pour les Jaguars?<\/h2>

Cette double utilisation interroge. Certains observateurs estiment qu’il vaudrait mieux concentrer son talent sur un seul poste. Pourtant, le staff de Jacksonville assure gérer avec précision son emploi du temps et ses efforts, grâce à un suivi quotidien incluant préparation physique, nutrition et données de performance. <\/p>

« Plus il joue, meilleur il devient », insiste le coordinateur défensif Anthony Campanile.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Si les Jaguars (1-1) veulent rebondir après leur revers à Cincinnati, Travis Hunter pourrait bien être la clé. Reste à savoir jusqu’où le staff est prêt à repousser ses limites et si le joueur peut continuer à tenir ce rythme inédit dans la NFL moderne.<\/p>
