À New York, la question du poste de quarterback anime déjà les débats. Après une entrée en matière difficile pour les Giants de Russell Wilson, battus 21-6 par Washington lors de la première semaine, certains supporters appellent à voir le rookie Jaxson Dart prendre les commandes de l’attaque<\/a>. Mais selon ESPN, la franchise n’entend pas précipiter les choses: «aucun sentiment d’urgence»<\/a> ne pousse aujourd’hui les Giants à titulariser leur choix du premier tour de la draft 2025.<\/p>

Russel Wilson déjà remis en question?<\/h2>

À 36 ans, Russel Wilson sort d’un premier match décevant (17 passes réussies sur 37 tentées pour 168 yards, sans touchdown ni interception) pas aidé par une ligne offensive qui l’a placé presque constamment sous pressin. Une prestation qui alimente naturellement la pression extérieure. Pourtant, le staff veut temporiser, estimant qu’un passage de relais prématuré pourrait nuire au développement de Jaxson Dart. Le calendrier chargé, avec Dallas, Kansas City et les Chargers notamment dans les semaines à venir, rend d’ailleurs le contexte particulièrement délicat pour lancer un débutant.<\/p>

Le scénario d’un changement n’est pas exclu, mais les dirigeants privilégieraient une transition progressive. La semaine 5, face aux Saints, apparaît comme une éventuelle fenêtre, suivie d’une mini-trêve après la rencontre contre Philadelphie en prime time.<\/p>

Jaxson Dart poursuit sa préparation<\/h2>

En attendant peut-être son heure dans les prochaines semaines, Jaxson Dart continue de se préparer dans l’ombre. <\/p>

« Je suis confiant. Peu importe quand viendra l’opportunité, je serai prêt » a-t-il affirmé, insistant sur sa volonté d’être « le meilleur coéquipier possible » pour Wilson.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Derrière les discours officiels, l’histoire récente des New York Giants rappelle que la franchise n’hésite pas à tourner la page si nécessaire: en 2004 par exemple, Kurt Warner avait été écarté malgré un bilan positif pour faire place à Eli Manning. Pour Wilson, le compte à rebours pourrait déjà avoir commencé.<\/p>
