À quelques jours du début de la saison, le manager général des San Francisco 49ers, John Lynch, a tenu à clarifier la situation de Jauan Jennings. Malgré une demande de transfert formulée par le receveur plus tôt dans l’été, la franchise californienne n’a aucune intention de s’en séparer. <\/p>

« Il l’a demandé, mais nous avons tourné la page. Nous n’allons pas l’échanger », a tranché Lynch mercredi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Jauan Jennings disponible en week 1?<\/h2>

Reste que la disponibilité du joueur demeure incertaine. Touché au mollet, Jennings n’a pratiquement pas participé au camp d’entraînement et son retour à la compétition n’a toujours pas de calendrier précis. <\/p>

« Il progresse, mais rien ne garantit sa présence en semaine 1 », a reconnu Lynch.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Cette absence pèse lourd sur un groupe de receveurs déjà fragilisé. Après le départ de Deebo Samuel vers Washington et la blessure de Brandon Aiyuk, indisponible pour au moins six semaines, San Francisco se retrouve considérablement diminué. L’équipe a d’ailleurs dû réagir en s’attachant les services de Marquez Valdes-Scantling, coupé par Seattle, et en réintégrant Russell Gage.<\/p>

Jauan Jennings, drafté au septième tour en 2020, s’est pourtant imposé comme l’une des cibles les plus fiables de Brock Purdy, signant 77 réceptions pour 975 yards et six touchdowns la saison passée. En fin de contrat, il espère obtenir une prolongation à long terme, mais pour l’heure son avenir immédiat dépendra surtout de sa guérison.<\/p>

Les San Francisco 49ers<\/a>, qui ouvriront leur saison le 7 septembre à Seattle, devront donc jongler avec une escouade de receveurs en reconstruction, dans l’attente du retour de Jauan Jennings et de Brandon Aiyuk.<\/p>
