Jameis Winston ne va nulle part. Le directeur général adjoint des New York Giants, Brandon Brown, a écarté toute possibilité d’un échange impliquant le quarterback. Dans une interview accordée au New York Post<\/em> ce mardi (19), le dirigeant s’est montré ferme sur la volonté de conserver le joueur. Selon lui, les deux parties souhaitent poursuivre ensemble.<\/p>

« J’apprécie l’intérêt, mais Jameis est un New York Giant », a déclaré Brown.<\/p>

Les spéculations autour de l’avenir de Winston ont débuté le mois dernier en raison de l’excédent de quarterbacks dans l’effectif des Giants. La franchise, toutefois, a maintenu une position claire de désintérêt vis-à-vis d’un éventuel échange. Le journaliste Art Stapleton, de NorthJersey.com<\/em><\/a>, a rapporté que New York appréciait la présence du joueur et ne négocierait qu’en cas d’« offre façon Parrain<\/em> ».<\/p>

Les quarterbacks des Giants<\/h2>

En plus de Winston, les Giants comptent d’autres talents dans leur groupe de lanceurs pour la saison NFL 2025. Il a été le premier à rejoindre le club, en mars, en signant pour deux ans et 8 millions de dollars. Ensuite, l’équipe a recruté l’expérimenté Russell Wilson pour 21 millions de dollars. Enfin, lors de la Draft NFL 2025, New York a sélectionné le jeune Jaxson Dart au premier tour.<\/p>

L’intérêt d’autres équipes pour Winston est compréhensible. Les Giants ont déjà désigné Russell Wilson<\/a><\/strong> comme quarterback titulaire pour la saison et semblent enclins à installer Dart comme doublure directe. Ce dernier reçoit du temps de jeu avec l’équipe réserve, tandis que l’entraîneur Brian Dabboll souhaite continuer à le faire progresser. Dans ce contexte, Winston serait donc relégué à une troisième option.<\/p>

Malgré cette position chez les Giants, Jameis Winston reste considéré comme un remplaçant de luxe et un bon atout pour un effectif. La saison 2025 sera sa 11e en NFL. Il a passé les cinq premières années de sa carrière avec les Tampa Bay Buccaneers, avant de porter les couleurs d’autres franchises comme les New Orleans Saints. <\/p>

En 2024, il évoluait chez les Cleveland Browns, totalisant 2 121 yards, 13 touchdowns et 12 interceptions en 12 matchs.<\/p>
