À l’aube de la saison 2025, les Detroit Lions<\/a> savent qu’ils devront bientôt s’attaquer à l’un des dossiers les plus importants de leur effectif: prolonger Aidan Hutchinson. Le défenseur vedette, sélectionné en deuxième position de la draft 2022, est encore sous contrat jusqu’en 2026 grâce à l’activation de sa cinquième année optionnelle, mais un nouveau contrat semble inévitable, tant son impact est devenu central dans la défense des Lions.<\/p>

Interrogé mercredi, le manager général Brad Holmes a confirmé que les discussions n’ont pas encore réellement commencé. <\/p>

« Il n’y a pas encore eu de conversations sérieuses, mais on va lancer le dialogue bientôt. Cela dit, ce genre de contrat prend du temps, surtout quand il s’agit de grosses extensions », a-t-il déclaré à 97.1 The Ticket<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Un marché des pass-rushers très actif cette année<\/h2>

Le marché des pass-rushers a explosé cette intersaison. Des joueurs comme Maxx Crosby, Myles Garrett ou encore T.J. Watt ont signé des contrats massifs, et Micah Parsons pourrait établir un nouveau record salarial s’il parvient à un accord avec les Cowboys. Dans ce contexte, la prolongation de Hutchinson risque d’être coûteuse mais essentielle pour la franchise du Michigan.<\/p>

Aidan Hutchinson, 24 ans, sort d’une saison écourtée par une grave blessure à la jambe (fracture du tibia et du péroné). Avant son arrêt en octobre, il menait la NFL avec 7,5 sacks et avait déjà accumulé 30 pressions sur le quarterback. En carrière, il totalise 28,5 sacks en 39 matchs, un rendement qui confirme son statut de pierre angulaire défensive.<\/p>

Brad Holmes a salué la résilience de son joueur, notant qu’il « ne montre aucun signe de ralentissement » à l’entraînement. <\/p>

« Il revient avec la même explosivité, la même agilité. Ce n’est pas surprenant de sa part, il a toujours eu cet état d’esprit de compétiteur. »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Les Lions entameront leur saison face aux Packers de Green Bay le 7 septembre. En attendant, le front office sait qu’il devra bientôt faire de la prolongation de Hutchinson une priorité contractuelle, pour bâtir à long terme autour de sa jeune star défensive.<\/p>
