C’est un petit coup dur pour la rotation défensive des Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> en pleine préparation estivale. Le safety Lonnie Johnson Jr. s’est blessé lors du match simulé de l’équipe samedi. Selon une source proche du dossier citée par l’Associated Press<\/a>, l’ancien défenseur des Panthers se serait fracturé la jamble droite. L’information, bien que non encore confirmée officiellement par la franchise, a été révélée sous couvert d’anonymat. Les Raiders, de leur côté, n’ayant pas encore communiqué de diagnostic précis.<\/p>

La blessure concernerait le péroné et pourrait écarter le joueur des terrains pendant une période longue mais encore indéterminée. Des examens complémentaires sont nécessaires pour établir la durée exacte de son indisponibilité. Ce type de blessure, fréquent dans les sports de contact, pourrait compromettre une grande partie, voire la totalité, de sa saison 2025.<\/p>

Lonnie Johnson Jr, un défenseur dans la rotation des Raiders<\/h2>

Âgé de 28 ans, Lonnie Johnson Jr. devait disputer sa septième saison en NFL. Ancien choix de deuxième tour des Houston Texans en 2019, il a depuis connu plusieurs équipes: Tennessee, New Orleans, Carolina, et désormais Las Vegas. Il avait rejoint les Raiders durant l’intersaison en tant qu’agent libre après avoir disputé 15 matchs avec les Panthers l’an passé, dont une titularisation, pour un total de sept plaquages.<\/p>

Avec Las Vegas, Johnson évoluait principalement avec la deuxième équipe défensive, mais bénéficiait de temps de jeu régulier dans les formations en nickel. Sa blessure représente donc un véritable coup dur pour la profondeur de l’effectif défensif de l’entraîneur Antonio Pierce.<\/p>

En carrière, Johnson cumule 199 plaquages, 4 interceptions et 20 titularisations. Son profil polyvalent et expérimenté devait être un atout pour une défense des Raiders en reconstruction. Reste à savoir si la franchise choisira de renforcer le poste ou de faire confiance aux jeunes joueurs déjà présents dans l’effectif en cas d’absence longue durée confirmée dans les prochaines heures.<\/p>
