Le 23 juillet, au lendemain de son transfert vers les Phoenix Suns, Jalen Green a publié une lettre sur The Players’ Tribune<\/em> pour dire au revoir aux Houston Rockets. <\/p>

Dans ce texte touchant, le joueur est revenu sur ses années avec la franchise texane et a exprimé son enthousiasme pour le nouveau chapitre qui s’ouvre pour lui dans l’Arizona.<\/p>

« J’ai adoré être un Rocket, vraiment. J’ai du mal à croire que je parle de Houston au passé », a-t-il confié.
Il a également assuré vouloir conserver l’énergie et la mentalité qui l’avaient rendu si populaire auprès des fans :
« Je suis excité à l’idée de construire une culture gagnante avec les Suns, la même que nous avions commencée à développer à Houston. »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Mais Green n’a pas résisté à l’envie de glisser une petite provocation à son ancienne équipe, invitant les supporters à ne pas lui en vouloir si jamais il réalise une grosse performance contre eux :<\/p>

« Si je vous colle 30 points la saison prochaine, souvenez-vous des bons moments ! »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Le transfert<\/h2>

Choisi en 2e position de la Draft 2021, Jalen Green était l’un des visages de la reconstruction des Rockets. Mais malgré son potentiel, ses quatre années à Houston ont été marquées par des irrégularités dans ses performances.<\/p>

Un départ semblait inévitable depuis quelque temps. Il a finalement eu lieu durant cette intersaison, avec un échange envoyant Green et l’ailier Dillon Brooks à Phoenix, tandis que Kevin Durant faisait le chemin inverse pour rejoindre Houston<\/a>.<\/p>

Une séparation comprise et assumée<\/h3>

Malgré sa déception, Green a déclaré comprendre la décision des dirigeants :<\/p>

« Personne n’aime être échangé, mais je comprends, vraiment. C’est un business, et si j’étais à la place de la direction, j’aurais probablement fait le même choix. »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Jalen Green : Une saison 2024-25 en pleine progression<\/h2>

Jalen Green sort de la meilleure saison de sa carrière en NBA, avec une moyenne de 21 points, 4,6 rebonds et 3,4 passes décisives par match. Houston a terminé la saison régulière avec un bilan de 52 victoires et 30 défaites, se classant 2e à l’Ouest, et retrouvant les playoffs pour la première fois depuis 2020.<\/p>

Malgré une élimination dès le premier tour face aux Warriors, cette campagne a confirmé la maturité du jeune noyau de l’équipe, justifiant l’arrivée d’un vétéran comme Kevin Durant pour franchir un cap.<\/p>
