Le receveur des New York Jets, Garrett Wilson, a signé une prolongation de contrat de quatre ans d’une valeur de 130 millions de dollars, selon les informations d’Adam Schefter d’ESPN lundi soir. <\/p>

L’accord, valable pour six saisons, comprend 90 millions de dollars entièrement garantis.<\/p>

Avec ces nouveaux termes, Wilson devient le premier receveur de l’histoire de la NFL à gagner plus de 31 millions de dollars par an après seulement trois saisons disputées.<\/p>

Il détient désormais le cinquième salaire annuel le plus élevé de la ligue, derrière Ja’Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals), Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings), CeeDee Lamb (Dallas Cowboys) et DK Metcalf (Pittsburgh Steelers).<\/p>

New York conserve son WR1<\/strong><\/h2>

Sélectionné par les Jets avec le 10e choix général de la Draft NFL 2022, l’ancien joueur de Ohio State<\/em> s’est imposé comme une star de l’attaque. Il a dépassé les 1 000 yards en réception lors de chacune de ses trois premières saisons avec la franchise.<\/p>

En 2024, il a totalisé 1 104 yards en 101 réceptions et 7 touchdowns – tous des records en carrière. Il a également affiché une moyenne de 64,9 yards par match et 10,9 yards par réception en 17 rencontres.<\/p>

Malgré ces statistiques impressionnantes, l’équipe n’a pas transformé cette production en victoires : les Jets ont terminé avec un bilan de 5-15, manquant ainsi les playoffs pour la 14e saison consécutive.<\/p>

Les Jets préparent une nouvelle ère<\/strong><\/h2>

Face à une saison décevante, la franchise a procédé à de nombreux changements. L’entraîneur-chef Robert Saleh a été licencié en cours de saison et remplacé par Aaron Glenn, ancien coordinateur défensif des Detroit Lions. De plus, le quarterback Aaron Rodgers a été libéré après deux saisons marquées par des blessures et des polémiques.<\/p>

En 2025, Garrett Wilson devra s’adapter à son septième quarterback en carrière : Justin Fields, engagé pour deux ans et 40 millions de dollars après avoir montré de belles promesses avec les Pittsburgh Steelers l’an dernier.<\/p>

Une curiosité du calendrier : dès la semaine 1, Fields et Wilson affronteront Rodgers, désormais quarterback des Steelers, au MetLife Stadium le 7 septembre.<\/p>
