Une nouvelle page s’ouvre dans l’histoire commune du football américain avec la famille Fitzgerald. Devin Fitzgerald, fils du légendaire receveur Larry Fitzgerald, a annoncé son engagement avec l’université de Notre Dame<\/a> pour la classe de recrutement de l’année 2026.<\/p>

Âgé de 17 ans, Devin Fitzgerald évolue au poste de receveur comme son illustre père, et son choix de rejoindre les Fighting Irish de Notre Dame représente une véritable décision importante dans son jeune parcours vers le monde professionnel. Courtisé notamment par UCLA, le jeune athlète a préféré le programme du Midwest, convaincu par le projet proposé et la relation de longue date avec le coach des receveurs, Mike Brown.<\/p>

« Je suis devenu un meilleur joueur, et ils pensent vraiment que je peux devenir un grand joueur », a confié Fitzgerald à ESPN<\/a>. « Je connais Coach Brown depuis que j’ai cinq ans. Il m’a montré que je pouvais arriver, m’imposer et jouer tôt. C’est leur plan avec moi. »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Cette confiance accordée au jeune homme contraste avec la pression inhérente à son héritage familial. Son père, Larry Fitzgerald, est considéré comme l’un des meilleurs receveurs de tous les temps. Star de l’université de Pittsburgh, il fut sélectionné en troisième position de la draft 2004 avant de passer 17 saisons avec les Arizona Cardinals<\/a>. Ses statistiques parlent d’elles-mêmes : 1 432 réceptions (2e de l’histoire), 17 492 yards (2e) et 121 touchdowns (6e).<\/p>

Pour Devin Fitzgerald, le défi est double : se faire un prénom dans un sport où le nom Fitzgerald est déjà gravé dans le marbre. Mais avec du talent, une mentalité de travail, et le soutien d’un staff de confiance, le jeune receveur semble bien décidé à tracer sa propre voie, peut-être jusqu’à la NFL.
