Premier choix du Draft NFL 2025, Cam Ward représente l’un des grands espoirs des Tennessee Titans pour l’avenir, et aussi pour le présent. Cependant, le jeune quarterback devra batailler dur pour décrocher le poste de titulaire face à Will Levis. <\/p>

Et ces propos viennent de son propre coéquipier JC Latham, offensive tackle des Titans.<\/p>

« Will ne va pas simplement s’asseoir sur le banc en se disant ‘Ah, on l’a drafté, vas-y, prends le poste de titulaire’. Et Cam sait qu’il ne va pas obtenir ça sur un plateau. Je pense que c’est quelque chose que tous les entraîneurs et joueurs ont remarqué durant le spring training. Les deux relèvent le défi de mériter véritablement ce poste et de se battre pour l’obtenir. Et ça les rend meilleurs », a expliqué Cam Ward dans une interview à la radio SiriusXM.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Âgé de 23 ans, Cam Ward est arrivé à Tennessee après une excellente dernière année universitaire à Miami. Auparavant, il avait aussi porté les couleurs d’Incarnate Word et de Washington State. <\/p>

En 2024, il a mené la conférence ACC<\/a> avec 39 passes de touchdown et une moyenne impressionnante de yards par passe. Dans une cuvée pauvre en quarterbacks, il fut le seul sélectionné dans le top 10, une première depuis 2022.<\/p>

De son côté, Levis s’apprête à entamer sa troisième saison en tant que QB des Titans. <\/p>

En 2024, il a été titulaire lors de 12 matchs, mais ses performances ont été en demi-teinte. Il a terminé la saison avec 2 091 yards à la passe,<\/a> 13 touchdowns et 12 interceptions. En 21 matchs de carrière, il ne compte que cinq victoires.<\/p>

Même si la concurrence reste ouverte, il y a de fortes chances pour que Cam Ward décroche la titularisation. Récemment, il a d’ailleurs reçu les éloges de Calvin Ridley, le receveur numéro un de la franchise. Le groupe de receveurs des Titans a également été renforcé pour aider le jeune quarterback dans sa saison rookie, notamment avec l’arrivée du vétéran Tyler Lockett. <\/p>

Ce dernier a quitté les Seattle Seahawks après dix ans, et celle du rookie Xavier Restrepo, coéquipier de Cam à l’Université de Miami, signé par la franchise après ne pas avoir été drafté.<\/p>
