Robert Saleh fait son retour au poste de coordinateur défensif des 49ers. Ancien bras droit de Kyle Shanahan, l’ex-coach des Jets revient là où tout a commencé, avec l’ambition de raviver une défense qui a perdu de son éclat.<\/p>

Intensité et combativité attendues pour la défense californienne<\/h2>

Invité cette semaine du Rich Eisen Show<\/a>, George Kittle n’a pas mâché ses mots au moment d’évoquer ce come-back :<\/p>

« La violence arrive, c’est tout ce que j’ai à dire », a-t-il lancé avec enthousiasme.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Saleh avait largement contribué à bâtir l’identité défensive des 49ers à l’arrivée de Shanahan, avant de prendre les rênes des Jets en 2021. Malgré des résultats mitigés à New York, ses défenses sont restées redoutables, se classant dans le top 5 des yards concédés en 2022 et 2023. Sa marque de fabrique : une pression constante et une intensité physique à chaque snap.<\/p>

Après les passages express de DeMeco Ryans, Steve Wilks et Nick Sorensen, le retour de Saleh sonne comme une volonté de remettre de l’ordre et de l’énergie dans une escouade en pleine transition, rapporte NFL Network<\/a>.<\/p>

\n

« Il est excellent dans ce qu’il fait, et je suis vraiment content qu’on ait réussi à le convaincre de revenir », a ajouté Kittle. « Il sait de quoi il parle, il inspire, il motive les gars, et en plus, il est très intelligent. Rien que de passer un peu de temps avec lui, tu sens qu’il est prêt. Il va remettre les mecs en ordre de marche. »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Le chantier défensif s’annonce conséquent à San Francisco, notamment avec l’arrivée de nombreux jeunes appelés à jouer rapidement. Les rookies Alfred Collins et Mykel Williams pourraient être titulaires sur la ligne défensive, tandis que le linebacker Nick Martin et le cornerback Upton Stout sont également en lice pour des rôles importants.<\/p>

Dans ce contexte, l’expertise de Saleh pourrait être déterminante pour intégrer ces jeunes talents et restaurer l’intensité défensive qui faisait la renommée des 49ers. Des jeunes joueurs qui pourraient représenter l’avenir de la franchise, cette dernière ayant été la deuxième équipe à concéder le plus de touchdowns au sol en 2024.<\/p>
