Drafté en 2021 par les Warriors en 7ème position, Jonathan Kuminga pourrait prendre son envol et quitter la Californie. L’ailier de Golden State sera éligible à une offre qualificative (restricted free agent) cet été, mais son avenir dans la franchise est incertain. <\/p>

Kuminga utilisé comme monnaie d’échange ? <\/h2>

Son rôle fluctuant depuis l’arrivée de Jimmy Butler, ses relations tièdes avec le coach Steve Kerr, ainsi que son implication dans des discussions de transfert avortées pour Kevin Durant avant la dernière deadline alimentent l’idée qu’un changement d’environnement pourrait se profiler dans les mois à venir pour le natif de Goma. <\/p>

Selon HoopsHype<\/a>, Kuminga souhaite obtenir un rôle plus important et plus stable à l’avenir en NBA, ce qui entrainerait un changement d’équipe. Parmi les équipes à surveiller dans un éventuel sign-and-trade, deux noms ressortirait : les Chicago Bulls et le Miami Heat. Néanmoins, les Warriors n’ont pas totalement écarté l’option de conserver Kuminga, selon ces mêmes sources. <\/p>

Kuminga contre Vucevic ? <\/h3>

La saison dernière, Golden State s’était déjà montré intéressé par le pivot des Bulls Nikola Vucevic, qui entre désormais dans la dernière année de son contrat (21,48 millions de dollars). Dans une optique de victoire immédiate, le profil du Monténégrin solide, régulier, capable de scorer (17,2 points de moyenne en carrière), de tirer à trois points (40,2 % la saison dernière), et de dominer au rebond (10,5 par match), séduirait toujours la franchise californienne.<\/p>

Du côté de Chicago, la tendance serait au rajeunissement de l’effectif. Et à 23 ans en octobre, Kuminga s’intègrerait mieux à cette dynamique que Vucevic, qui fêtera ses 35 ans au même moment et qui souhaiterait toujours jouer pour gagner maintenant. <\/p>

Enfin, Miami resterait concentré en priorité sur des superstars comme Giannis Antetokounmpo (si disponible cet été) et Kevin Durant, dont ils cherchent activement à s’attacher les services. Kuminga n’apparaitrait que comme une troisième option pour le Heat dans ce contexte. Ce dernier reste sur une saison à 47 matchs avec 24.3 minutes, 15.3 points, 4.6 passes et 2.2 rebonds en moyenne. <\/p>
