Kevin Durant, star des Phoenix Suns, ne souhaite pas rejoindre les Minnesota Timberwolves lors de la prochaine intersaison NBA, selon Shams Charania d’ESPN.<\/p>

Bien que les Timberwolves fassent partie des principales équipes intéressées par l’ailier de 36 ans – aux côtés du Miami Heat et des Houston Rockets – la franchise du Minnesota ne figure pas parmi les destinations favorites du joueur, qui privilégierait plutôt les Spurs de San Antonio, en compagnie de Miami et Houston.<\/p>

Cela dit, cette préférence ne rend pas impossible un échange avec Minnesota. Toujours selon Charania, les Suns seraient prêts à conclure un accord avec l’équipe proposant la meilleure offre, indépendamment des envies de Durant.<\/p>

Brian Windhorst, également d’ESPN, ajoute que les Timberwolves se montreraient les plus agressifs dans les négociations et auraient même proposé le meilleur package à Phoenix. Ces éléments pourraient faire avancer les discussions vers un accord.<\/p>

Un vieux rêve des Timberwolves<\/strong><\/h3>

Durant est une cible de longue date pour Minnesota, qui avait déjà tenté de l’obtenir lors de la dernière deadline. Toutefois, les contraintes salariales des deux équipes, toutes deux au-dessus du “second apron”, avaient freiné les négociations.<\/p>

Cette fois, les Wolves pourraient réajuster leur masse salariale, avec plusieurs départs attendus. Nickeil Alexander-Walker deviendra agent libre, tandis que Naz Reid et Julius Randle disposent de player options qu’ils pourraient décliner.<\/p>

Enjeux contractuels<\/strong><\/h3>

Un autre point de préoccupation pour Minnesota concerne le contrat de Durant. Il lui reste une année à 54 millions de dollars pour la saison 2025-26. Il sera éligible à une extension de deux ans et 122 millions de dollars dès le 6 juillet, mais son manque d’intérêt pour jouer à Minneapolis pourrait compliquer un échange impliquant des actifs précieux.<\/p>

Malgré tout, Durant reste une énorme valeur sur le marché. Même à 36 ans, il a affiché des moyennes de 26,6 points, 6 rebonds et 4,2 passes décisives par match durant la saison 2024-25.<\/p>
