Les Houston Rockets ont réussi à conserver leur pivot Steven Adams, malgré de nombreuses rumeurs lors de l’intersaison évoquant un possible départ. Le Néo-Zélandais arrivait en fin de contrat et était pressenti pour tester le marché des agents libres.<\/p>

Finalement, la franchise texane et le joueur ont trouvé un accord sur une prolongation de contrat de trois ans pour un montant total de 39 millions de dollars. Pour la saison 2025-26, Adams percevra 14,1 millions de dollars, soit une augmentation par rapport à son précédent contrat, qui lui rapportait en moyenne 12,6 millions de dollars par an.<\/p>

Joueur clé de la rotation des Rockets la saison dernière, Adams, pivot de 2m11, est réputé pour sa dureté physique et sa capacité à dominer au rebond – un atout qui s’est confirmé lors de la série face aux Golden State Warriors en playoffs NBA<\/a>.<\/p>

À 31 ans, il a été un facteur déterminant contre des Warriors en manque de présence physique. Il a failli renverser la série du premier tour, sans un Game 7 exceptionnel de Buddy Hield qui a mis fin aux espoirs des Rockets. Golden State, intéressé par son profil, avait manifesté son intention de le recruter durant l’intersaison.<\/p>

Les Lakers étaient également sur les rangs, notamment pour combler le départ d’Anthony Davis. Toutefois, les antécédents médicaux d’Adams ont refroidi certains dirigeants. Finalement, le joueur et Houston ont trouvé un terrain d’entente pour continuer l’aventure ensemble.<\/p>

L’impact d’Adams se mesure aussi dans le différentiel de points<\/strong><\/h2>

Steven Adams a été une pièce maîtresse pour les Rockets renaissants tout au long de la saison. Avec lui sur le terrain, Houston affichait un différentiel de +44 points, soulignant sa contribution des deux côtés du parquet. Malgré ses difficultés aux lancers francs, l’entraîneur Ime Udoka lui a maintenu sa confiance, avec 22,1 minutes de temps de jeu moyen en playoffs.<\/p>

Malgré un effectif jeune et prometteur qui a terminé deuxième à l’Ouest, Houston a été éliminé dès le premier tour face aux vétérans des Warriors. L’expérience de Golden State a fait la différence dans un Game 7 intense, mettant un terme à la belle saison des Rockets.<\/p>
