Jonathan Kuminga devrait tester le marché lors de cette intersaison NBA en tant qu’agent libre restreint. L’ailier de 22 ans est au cœur des réflexions des Golden State Warriors, qui cherchent à équilibrer leur effectif entre jeunes talents prometteurs et un noyau déjà très coûteux.<\/p>

Une offre attendue<\/strong><\/h2>

Selon Bobby Marks (ESPN)<\/a>, les Warriors ont l’intention de présenter une qualifying offer<\/em> de 7,9 millions de dollars à Kuminga, ce qui ferait de lui un agent libre restreint. Cela signifie que Golden State aurait le droit d’égaliser toute offre extérieure. Toutefois, avec les Brooklyn Nets comme seule équipe disposant de suffisamment de marge salariale pour lui proposer 20 millions ou plus par saison, une sign-and-trade<\/em> pourrait devenir l’option la plus viable.<\/p>

Récemment, des rumeurs évoquaient justement un échange dans ce format avec Boston, en incluant Kristaps Porziņģis. Marks souligne cependant les contraintes techniques d’un tel montage : si Kuminga signe pour 30 millions par an, seulement 15 millions seraient comptabilisés comme salaire sortant chez les Warriors, alors que les 30 millions compteraient comme salaire entrant pour l’autre équipe, ce qui complique l’équation.<\/p>

Une situation financière tendue<\/strong><\/h2>

Golden State consacre déjà près de 85 % de sa masse salariale à Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler et Draymond Green. Bien que l’équipe soit encore en dessous du premier seuil de la taxe de luxe, investir massivement dans Kuminga pourrait limiter sa flexibilité pour construire un effectif compétitif dans une conférence Ouest très relevée.<\/p>

Par ailleurs, la fin de saison a confirmé une certaine incompatibilité entre Kuminga et le reste du roster, notamment dans les rotations où il partageait le terrain avec Butler et Green.<\/p>

Des statistiques prometteuses mais un rôle incertain<\/strong><\/h2>

Lors du dernier exercice, Kuminga a tourné à 15,3 points, 4,6 rebonds et 2,2 passes de moyenne sur 47 matchs. Il n’a débuté que 10 fois en tant que titulaire et a vu son temps de jeu diminuer après l’arrivée de Butler. Malgré cela, son potentiel reste intact, surtout dans un rôle plus important.<\/p>

En conclusion, les Warriors pourraient vouloir le conserver, mais ils ne sont peut-être pas en mesure d’en assumer le coût. Un échange contre des pièces plus économiques et mieux intégrées au collectif pourrait être la meilleure stratégie pour rester compétitif et maximiser une des dernières chances de titre pour le noyau actuel de la franchise.<\/p>
