En plus d’être l’un des meilleurs joueurs (voire le<\/em> meilleur) actuellement en NBA, Nikola Jokic possède également l’un des surnoms les plus emblématiques : « Joker ». <\/p>

Devenu l’un des visages de la ligue, y compris sur le plan marketing, Jokic doit une partie de ce succès à Mike Miller. Le vétéran, désormais à la retraite, a en effet révélé qu’il était à l’origine de ce surnom.<\/p>

« C’est moi qui lui ai donné le surnom de Joker. D’abord parce que je n’arrivais pas à dire “Jokic, passe cette p… de balle”, alors je disais “Joker, passe la balle”. Sa personnalité, sa façon de jouer… c’est comme le Joker (le personnage). À chaque fois que je le vois, c’est comme une blague… j’aurais dû déposer ce nom », a raconté Miller dans le Podcast P<\/em> animé par Paul George.<\/p>\n\n\n

L’idée de déposer le surnom n’aurait en effet pas été mauvaise. Depuis, c’est devenu une véritable identité pour Jokic, qui l’a même adoptée dans sa propre ligne de chaussures. <\/p>

Récemment, la marque chinoise 361° a lancé la gamme « Joker », avec un premier modèle aux couleurs inspirées du personnage de la franchise Batman.<\/p>

Le super-vilain est en effet étroitement associé aux couleurs violette et verte, que l’on retrouve sur les baskets. Par ailleurs, le pivot est apparu à un match de playoffs contre le Thunder d’Oklahoma City vêtu d’un costume rappelant ceux du célèbre Joker.<\/p>

Malgré cet héritage marquant, Mike Miller n’a pas passé beaucoup de temps aux côtés de Jokic. Le vétéran a joué deux saisons avec les Denver Nuggets : 2015-16 et 2016-17. Il s’agissait de ses deux dernières saisons… et des deux premières de Jokic. <\/p>

Depuis, le numéro 15 a remporté trois titres de MVP, un titre NBA, le premier de l’histoire de la franchise, ainsi que le trophée de MVP des Finales. Il compte également sept sélections dans les All-NBA Teams et au All-Star Game.<\/p>

En 2025-26, Nikola Jokic entamera sa 11e saison avec la franchise du Colorado.<\/p>
