Coéquipiers l’an passé à Pittsburgh, Russell Wilson et George Pickens seront adversaires de division cette saison. En effet, le quarterback a rejoint les Giants, tandis que le receveur a lui signé chez les Cowboys, deux équipes de la NFC East. Malgré leur nouvelle rivalité, Wilson continue d’encenser son ancien coéquipier. <\/p>

« J’adore George. Sa capacité à attraper le ballon est unique. » <\/h2>

En 2024, Pickens a connu une saison avec 59 réceptions, 900 yards et 3 touchdowns, en étant le receveur numéro 1 des Steelers. De son côté, Wilson a totalisé 2 482 yards pour 16 TDs en 11 matchs, lançant chacun des touchdowns de son ancien coéquipier. <\/p>

Malgré l’enthousiasme de Wilson en fin de saison dernière à l’idée de jouer une saison de plus avec Pickens chez les Steelers, le duo est désormais séparé. <\/p>

Malgré leur séparation, l’ancien des Seahawks continue d’afficher un grand respect pour le talent de son ancien receveur, qu’il avait qualifié de « joueur capable de faire la différence » en janvier. Invité récemment dans l’émission 7PM in Brooklyn <\/a>animée par Carmelo Anthony, le quarterback a réaffirmé son admiration pour ce dernier, minimisant les critiques sur son attitude. <\/p>

Plus sérieusement, il est incompris. Il veut être grand, vraiment. Je pense même qu’il peut aller au-delà de la grandeur. Il a en lui ce qu’il faut pour devenir le meilleur au monde. » <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Wilson a également précisé qu’il continue de soutenir tous ses anciens coéquipiers, sauf quand ils sont sur le terrain face à lui. <\/p>

Les retrouvailles entre les deux hommes auront lieu dès la semaine 2 de la saison régulière, lors d’un affrontement entre les Giants et les Cowboys à Dallas. Russell Wilson espérera alors que George Pickens ne fasse pas trop de dégâts face à sa nouvelle équipe.<\/p>
