Les Chargers ont entamé des discussions en vue d’une prolongation de contrat avec leur left tackle Rashawn Slater. Mais le dossier semble avancer moins vite que ne l’espérait le joueur.<\/p>

Selon Daniel Popper (The Athletic<\/a>), Slater ne s’est pas présenté mardi au premier entraînement volontaire (OTA) de l’intersaison. Bien que la séance ne soit pas obligatoire, son absence interpelle : c’est la première fois que le lineman manque ces entraînements, ce qui laisse penser que la situation contractuelle y est probablement pour quelque chose.<\/p>

Slater entame la dernière année de son contrat rookie, après que les Chargers aient levé l’option pour une cinquième saison. Il est prévu que ce dernier touche 19,04 millions de dollars en 2025.<\/p>

Le minicamp obligatoire de trois jours débutera le 10 juin à Los Angeles. Si Slater venait à le manquer, le tackle s’exposerait alors à des amendes. Ce qui ferait de son contrat l’un des sujets brûlants à surveiller à l’approche du camp d’entraînement.<\/p>

Pour rappel, le joueur de 26 ans a été Pro Bowler à deux reprises depuis sa draft par les Chargers en 2021 : 2021 et 2024.<\/p>
