Le meneur des Denver Nuggets, Russell Westbrook<\/strong>, a subi une intervention chirurgicale pour traiter deux fractures à la main droite survenues au cours de la dernière saison NBA. <\/p>

L’information a été confirmée ce mardi (27) par le joueur lui-même via sa newsletter Word of Westbrook<\/em>. La franchise du Colorado a précisé que l’ancien MVP souffrait également de déchirures de plusieurs ligaments de la main. Son retour sans restrictions est prévu pour le training camp<\/em>.<\/p>

« Je suis reconnaissant pour tout le soutien que j’ai reçu cette année et j’ai hâte de revenir à 100 % très bientôt », a écrit Westbrook<\/a>. « Le retour est déjà en marche. »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Ni le joueur ni l’équipe n’ont précisé la date exacte de la blessure, mais il est probable que le meneur ait joué diminué pendant les playoffs. Il avait disputé la série face au Oklahoma City Thunder<\/strong> avec plusieurs doigts bandés.<\/p>

Une première saison réussie à Denver<\/strong><\/h3>

Malgré ces blessures, Russell Westbrook<\/strong> a livré une première saison solide avec les Nuggets. L’ancien MVP 2017 a tourné à 13,3 points, 6,1 passes et 4,9 rebonds de moyenne<\/strong>, avec 44,9 % de réussite au tir en 75 matchs<\/strong>, dont 36 en tant que titulaire — sa plus haute marque depuis la saison 2021-2022.<\/p>

Avec Westbrook dans ses rangs, Denver a terminé 4e de la Conférence Ouest<\/strong> avec un bilan de 50 victoires pour 32 défaites. L’équipe a éliminé les Clippers 4-3 au premier tour des playoffs avant de s’incliner face à OKC en demi-finales, au terme d’une série poussée jusqu’au match 7.<\/p>

Quel avenir pour Westbrook ?<\/strong><\/h3>

L’ancien joueur du Thunder, des Rockets et des Lakers devra maintenant décider de son avenir à Denver. Il dispose d’une player option<\/em> à 3,3 millions de dollars<\/strong> pour la saison 2025-2026, incluse dans son contrat de deux ans signé l’an dernier pour 6,7 millions de dollars<\/strong>. La balle est désormais dans son camp.<\/p>
