Le géant de l’automobile américain General Motors sera motoriste dès la saison 2029 de Formule 1<\/a>. Alors que la marque entrera en catégorie reine l’année prochaine, avec l’écurie Cadillac, celle-ci s’expandra un peu plus sur le marché de la F1 en fournissant des moteurs. <\/p>

La FIA a officiellement approuvé <\/a>la candidature de GM Performance Power Units LLC moins de deux mois après l’officialisation de la onzième équipe de la grille en 2026. Lors de leurs trois premières saisons en Formule 1, Cadillac va utiliser le moteur Ferrari, avant de General Motors ne peaufine son moteur pour 2029. <\/p>

« Avec cette approbation de la FIA, nous allons continuer à accélérer nos efforts pour mettre sur la grille un moteur de F1 de fabrication américaine », a déclaré Russ O’Blenes, PDG de GM Performance Power Units LLC.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Pour développer ces nouveaux moteurs, un nouveau bâtiment verra le jour près de Charlotte, lieu du centre technique de General Motors. La marque américaine va s’associer avec TWG Motorsports, société mère de la fameuse équipe Andretti aux Etats-Unis. <\/p>

« L’arrivée de GM Performance Power Units LLC. en tant que fournisseur agréé de groupes motopropulseurs pour le championnat à partir de 2029 marque une nouvelle étape dans l’expansion mondiale de la Formule 1 et souligne l’intérêt croissant de constructeurs automobiles de classe mondiale tels que General Motors », a déclaré le président de la FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Le géant américain rejoindra des titans de l’industrie, à savoir Mercedes, Ferrari, Audi, ou encore Red Bull, qui développe son tout prochain moteur en partenariat avec la marque Ford. <\/p>
