Le running back Ashton Jeanty déborde de confiance. <\/p>

Il est l’un des principaux prospects offensifs du Draft 2025 après avoir dominé dans les tranchées avec les Boise State Broncos, l’équipe dans laquelle il a joué toute sa carrière universitaire.<\/p>

Récemment, il s’est même comparé à Saquon Barkley, joueur des Philadelphia Eagles, dans une lettre adressée aux general managers et publiée sur le site The Players’ Tribune<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>

« La plupart des gens ont regardé les Eagles gagner le Super Bowl il y a deux mois. Ils ont vu Saquon Barkley<\/a><\/strong> passer à travers tout le monde et se sont dit : ‘C’est incroyable !’. Moi aussi, j’ai regardé le match, mais j’ai pensé à autre chose : ça pourrait être moi<\/em> », a écrit Jeanty dans sa lettre.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Pour remettre dans le contexte, Barkley a été le meilleur running back de la dernière saison NFL<\/a>. Il a cumulé 345 courses pour 2005 yards et 13 touchdowns au sol, en plus de 33 réceptions pour 278 yards et 2 touchdowns dans les airs. Son succès a été tel qu’il a été élu joueur offensif de l’année par l’Associated Press.<\/p>

Jeanty a eu un impact similaire en NCAA. Lors de sa dernière saison avec Boise State, le jeune joueur a totalisé 374 courses pour 2601 yards et 29 touchdowns, ainsi que 23 réceptions pour 138 yards et 1 touchdown à la réception. Il a terminé deuxième au vote du trophée Heisman, juste derrière le joueur hybride CB\/WR Travis Hunter<\/a><\/strong>, de Colorado.<\/p>

Qu’Ashton Jeanty soit l’un des grands noms de cette classe du Draft ne fait aucun doute. D’autant que la NFL semble connaître un regain d’intérêt pour les running backs, après les saisons exceptionnelles de Barkley et de Derrick Henry (désormais à Baltimore) en 2024.<\/p>

Reste à savoir si Jeanty aura l’impact qu’il annonce. Il ne faut pas oublier que Barkley a explosé grâce à l’excellente ligne offensive des Eagles et à la présence de Jalen Hurts, un quarterback mobile. Même constat pour Derrick Henry : bien que la ligne offensive de Baltimore ne soit pas la meilleure, il partage le backfield avec nul autre que Lamar Jackson.<\/p>

Dans ce contexte, le meilleur scénario pour Jeanty serait d’être drafté par une équipe disposant d’une ligne offensive solide et d’un quarterback mobile. <\/p>

Il est aussi le consensus de 55 % des mock drafts publiés par les médias américains la semaine dernière, selon l’agrégateur NFL Mock Draft Database<\/em>.<\/p>
