Stephen A. Smith, de la chaîne ESPN, a affirmé que les New York Knicks ne joueront que 14 matchs durant les playoffs NBA 2025. <\/p>

Lors de l’émission First Take<\/em> de ce mercredi (16), l’analyste a prédit que la franchise new-yorkaise serait éliminée au deuxième tour après des séries face aux Detroit Pistons et aux Boston Celtics.<\/p>

« Les New York Knicks disputeront 14 matchs lors de cette post-saison », a assuré le commentateur. « D’abord, ils devront aller jusqu’à sept matchs face aux Detroit Pistons pour passer, puis ils joueront encore sept matchs contre les Boston Celtics », a-t-il expliqué.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Smith a également précisé que sa prédiction ne reposait pas sur une analyse du jeu, mais uniquement sur son instinct. <\/p>

« Les Knicks vont pousser les Celtics jusqu’à un septième match. Je n’ai aucune justification basée sur le basket pour expliquer cela, c’est juste mon côté supporter, mon instinct qui me dit qu’ils iront jusqu’au septième match avant de finalement rentrer chez eux », a-t-il conclu.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Les Knicks terminent troisièmes à l’Est malgré les irrégularités<\/strong><\/h2>

Malgré une saison en dents de scie, les Knicks ont terminé la saison régulière avec un bilan de 51 victoires pour 31 défaites, suffisant pour obtenir l’avantage du terrain au premier tour des playoffs en tant que troisième de la Conférence Est.<\/p>

Plusieurs éléments suscitent l’espoir d’une belle campagne en playoffs. L’équipe a enregistré la cinquième meilleure efficacité offensive par 100 possessions en saison régulière, tout en figurant dans le top 10 au net rating, au pourcentage à trois points et à la défense en termes de points encaissés par match.<\/p>

En revanche, New York n’a pas brillé face aux principales équipes prétendantes au titre. Contre les franchises du top 4 de chaque conférence, les Knicks affichent un bilan de cinq victoires pour quatorze défaites.<\/p>

Quoi qu’il en soit, la franchise espère pouvoir compter sur ses stars Jalen Brunson et Karl-Anthony Towns pour aller chercher un premier titre depuis 1973. La série face aux Pistons débute ce samedi (19)<\/a> au Madison Square Garden.<\/p>
