Après 289 jours d’attente, Alek Manoah<\/strong> a enfin retrouvé le monticule. <\/p>

Vendredi matin, au centre de développement des joueurs des Toronto Blue Jays<\/strong>, le lanceur droitier a complété une séance de bullpen sous les yeux de ses coéquipiers et du staff technique. À la fin de son dernier lancer, il s’est approché de son receveur Alejandro Kirk<\/strong> pour une accolade avant que l’assistance ne l’accueille avec des applaudissements nourris.<\/p>

“C’est une montagne russe d’émotions, mais ça fait un bien fou”, a confié Manoah<\/a>, encore en sueur, quelques instants plus tard.<\/p>

Une étape clé après une opération hybride Tommy John<\/strong><\/h2>

Cette session de bullpen représente une avancée majeure dans le processus de rééducation du lanceur, opéré le 17 juin 2024<\/strong> d’une version hybride de la célèbre chirurgie Tommy John<\/strong>, combinant un remplacement classique du ligament collatéral ulnaire avec une suture interne renforcée.<\/p>

Le chemin du retour a été long et souvent solitaire pour le lanceur de 27 ans. Il a partagé son intersaison entre Miami<\/strong> et les installations de l’équipe en Floride<\/strong>, enchaînant les exercices répétitifs et les paliers de réhabilitation.<\/p>

\n

“Il est facile de tomber dans la monotonie et d’exécuter les mouvements mécaniquement”, raconte Manoah. “Mais pour moi, chaque étape est une petite victoire et me rapproche de mon objectif final.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Parmi ces jalons, il cite son premier entraînement du haut du corps<\/strong> après trois mois, puis l’intégration des lancers avec balles lestées<\/strong> à cinq mois. La semaine dernière, il a pu jouer à la balle deux jours consécutifs, un moment clé dans son rétablissement.<\/p>

Un retour espéré pour la seconde moitié de saison<\/strong><\/h2>

Manoah, sélectionné 11e au total par Toronto en 2019<\/strong>, s’est rapidement imposé comme l’un des piliers de la rotation des Blue Jays. Entre 2021 et 2022, il a affiché une ERA de 2.60 en 51 départs<\/strong> (308.1 manches lancées) et s’est classé troisième du vote pour le Cy Young en 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>

Mais la saison 2023 a marqué un tournant, avec une chute brutale de ses performances et une blessure au coude qui a mis fin à son année prématurément.<\/p>

Aujourd’hui, il vise un retour pour la deuxième moitié de la saison MLB 2025<\/a><\/strong>, sans se fixer de date précise.<\/p>

Les Blue Jays<\/strong> espèrent retrouver le Manoah dominateur de 2022. <\/p>
