Alors que toute l’attention est portée sur la Nouvelle-Orléans, Myles Garrett a décidé cette semaine de tirer la couverture à lui. <\/p>

Le defensive End des Browns de Cleveland a annoncé qu’il souhaitait quitter Cleveland en début de semaine. Les garanties que Garrett espérait de la part de la franchise sur sa capacité à prétendre à jouer les premiers rôles en NFL<\/a> ne semblent pas avoir été atteintes.<\/p>

À ce stade de sa carrière, la volonté de jouer pour une équipe de premier rang, se battant pour le SUper Bowl semble devenir le nouvel objectif pour le defensive End. <\/p>

Dans le The Rich Eisen Show<\/em> de mercredi, Myles Garrett a clairement affiché ses intentions : <\/p>

« Je veux jouer pour un contender » a-t-il affirmé dans l’émission<\/a>. <\/p>

Mais pour l’instant, les Browns ne semblent pas l’entendre de cette oreille. <\/p>

Vers un bras de fer avec Cleveland ? <\/h2>

Immédiatement après cette annonce, les Browns ont tout de suite calmé les ardeurs en indiquant n’avoir aucune intention d’échanger leur defensive end. Myles Garrett n’a pas voulu commenter la situation pour le moment, ni indiquer sa position si la franchise campait sur ses positions à l’avenir. <\/p>

La saison 2025 ne débutera qu’en mars prochain et déjà, l’optique d’un bras de fer entre les deux partie semble inévitable. <\/p>

Sélectionné en première position lors de la draft 2017, il s’est rapidement imposé comme l’un des défenseurs les plus redoutables de la ligue. Au cours de sa carrière, Garrett a accumulé 352 plaquages combinés, dont 250 en solo et 102 assistés, ainsi que 102,5 sacks, 20 fumbles forcés et 6 fumbles recouverts en 117 matchs. <\/p>

Ses performances lui ont valu six sélections au Pro Bowl et quatre nominations en première équipe All-Pro.<\/p>

Lors de la saison 2024, Garrett a disputé les 17 matchs de la saison régulière, enregistrant 47 plaquages (40 en solo et 7 assistés), 14 sacks, 3 fumbles forcés et 1 fumble recouvert.  <\/p>

Il a également mené la ligue avec 22 plaquages pour perte. Malgré ces performances individuelles remarquables, les Browns ont terminé la saison avec un bilan de 3–14. <\/p>
