NFL – La NFL a annoncé ce mercredi le nom des 32 finalistes du Walter Payton Man of the Year Award qui sera remis la veille du Super Bowl.<\/h2>

Qui succèdera à Cameron Heyward<\/a>, lauréat du Walter Payton Man of the Year Award lors de la saison 2023? Le suspens reste à cette heure entier. Mais la NFL vient de dévoiler ce mercredi le nom des 32 finalistes<\/a> avec, comme le veut la tradition, un joueur choisi dans chacune des franchises NFL.<\/p>

Le Water Payton Man of the Year Award, c’est quoi?<\/h3>

Dès l’année 1970, la NFL prend la décision de récompenser un joueur chaque année qui se distingue par ses performances sur et en dehors du terrain. Chaque franchise NFL nomme donc un joueur, qui est ensuite validé par les instances de la ligue, qui se distingue par ses actions au sein de la communauté et au sein d’une action caritative. Les 32 noms choisis constituent ensuite le groupe de finalistes pour le trophée du Watler Payton Man of the Year.<\/p>

En 1977, le running back des Chicago Bears, Walter Payton réussit à remporter ce trophée convoité. En 1999, après le décès de ce joueur, la NFL décide de renommer le trophée en son honneur. La veuve de Walter Payton a d’ailleurs fait partie du jury attribuant le prix pendant de longues années aux côtés de Roger Goodell en position de patron de la ligue mais aussi aux côtés du vainqueur du trophée de l’année précédente notamment.<\/p>

En plus de l’honneur d’être sélectionné pour cette récompense, le joueur choisi pour recevoir le Walter Payton Man of the Year Award se voit remettre un chèque de 250 000 dollars qui sera reversé à l’association de son choix. Les 31 autres finalistes recevront eux un chèque de 55 000 dollars qui sera, la aussi, versé à l’association qu’il défend.<\/p>
