WNBA<\/a> – Coup dur pour la rookie Angel Reese, qui ne terminera pas la saison avec le Chicago Sky.<\/h2>

L’équipe de l’Illinois l’a annoncé ce week-end, sa joueuse phénomène Angel Reese doit mettre un terme à sa première saison en WNBA en raison d’une blessure au poignet.<\/p>

C’est après avoir subi une évaluation médicale à l’issue du dernier match du Sky qu’Angel Reese a été écartée pour le reste de la saison, toujours selon son équipe. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

La joueuse n’a pas tardé à réagir sur le réseau social X<\/a> (ex-Twitter) :<\/p>

« Je suis pleine d’émotions en ce moment à l’idée d’avoir cette blessure qui met fin à ma saison, mais aussi remplie de beaucoup de gratitude pour tout ce qui va suivre ».<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>

Angel Reese, septième choix de la dernière Draft en provenance de la fac de LSU,  a battu des records en tant que rookie pour son équipe du Sky.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Elle est devenue la #1 all time de la WNBA en termes de rebonds sur une saison (446) et de rebonds offensifs (172). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Avec une moyenne de 13,1 rebonds par match (dont 5,1 rebonds offensifs), elle affiche les moyennes les plus élevées de toutes les joueuses de l’histoire de la WNBA dans ces deux catégories statistiques (en attendant la fin de saison régulière<\/em>). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

La joueuse à également su enchainé les performances, devenant la première joueuse de l’histoire de la ligue à enregistrer trois matchs consécutifs de 20 rebonds ou plus, ou en arrivant à enchaîner le plus de matchs consécutifs avec au moins dix rebonds, allant les attraper autant en attaque qu’en défense.

Plus globalement, cette première saison d’Angel Reese sera marqué par 34 matchs joués, pour une moyenne de 13,6 points, 13,1 rebonds et 1,9 passes décisives par match, avec une réussite de 39,1 % aux tirs.

Fin du débat pour le titre de rookie de l’année.<\/h3>

Avec cette blessure qui va l’empêcher de conclure cette saison, où son équipe du Sky se bat encore pour une place en playoffs, Angel Reese ne pourra très certainement pas prétendre au trophée de meilleure joueuse de première année en WNBA, promis désormais à Caitlin Clark.<\/p>

Mais Angel Reese peut se targuer d’avoir mis le doute dans la têtes de nombreux observateurs, leur duel à distance avec le joueuse d’Indiana a alimenté la discussion et la passion nouvelle qui s’est instauré autour de la WNBA cette saison.<\/p>
